When Jesus judged others, I don't take that to mean that we must do the same.
What does this say?
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by." (Zechariah 3:7}
If you want to follow every example of Jesus, what would it take for Lynch and believer to take a walk through the desert for 40 days?
Jesus didn't ask us to walk through the desert for 40 days. If He did, I would.
However, we are told to:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20)
"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine" (2 Timothy 4:2)
No SighFi, the representation that John and I have made on this forum is the accurate representation of what the Bible says.
I'm not even going there. The theologians argue about EVERYTHING and they made studying the Bible their life's work.
People are people, they don't represent God with all they do, NOT even Christians at times, many times.". Wow, you sure do sell Christians short. So, what's the answer? Don't even try? God tells Christians they are to no longer live for this world. Don't be secular. He also says that anything is possible through Jesus Christ.
The answer is do what you want with YOUR faith in your life. In the end, no matter WHAT you say, we are only responsible for ourselves. Sharing your faith with others is a good thing and part of Christianity, but I will tell you this, there's a wrong way and right way to do it. You two have actually turned people from God. I've gotten PM's from several people telling me this. So, it's time you took a trip down Introspection Lane and ask yourself some honest questions...like what is the results of what I'm doing here? Is it working?
and in the end, since it's obvious people are turned off, it's an epic fail. Love is an ACTION, live it out, be something someone else might want to be like. Being a judgmental brow beating personality is abusive. No one likes to be condemned by another person who, in the end, is no better than anyone else.
Keep your judgment to yourself, and stop trolling this board. We are sick of it.
We are sick of your false teachings about God. Keep that to yourself.
Can someone whose practices are less than 100% in accordance with the literal words of John's preferred translation of the Bible still be considered Christian?
It isn't about practices. It is about believing God. It's about believing Jesus. It's about believing the Bible. It's about believing in them 100 percent.
People aren't perfect. They do sin. A Christian will recognize that their act was a sin, and are convicted by it. That shows that although they did "mess up", they do believe God, Jesus and the Bible If they try and excuse sin, then they aren't showing that 100 percent belief in God, Jesus and the Bible. Their excuses are, in effect, attempting to change God to their own liking.
Every Christian has the right to rebuke false teachings concerning Christianity and to correct those false teachings. That isn't accusing anyone of doing anything other than giving false information. Almost EVERYONE on the forum does that.
how many true Christians are there?
On this forum, of the people who post regularly, there are probably not very many who believe God, Jesus and the Bible 100 percent.
I know that John has posted this many times, but it is something that should be strongly considered.
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23)
Please don't be one of the people that Jesus says this to.
As Optimus Prime said, "The word is God if God is big enough to create the world and save us he is big enough to protect his word and make sure it is accurate."
it's really as simple as that-if you care about your faith, you'll quit turning people away from it- the only people who agree with you are those that already believe in the hell and brimstone teachings-
That is what I asked Warren, and you know it. So what does it mean Warren?
The theologians argue about EVERYTHING and they made studying the Bible their life's work.
No, they don't.
Sharing your faith with others is a good thing and part of Christianity, but I will tell you this, there's a wrong way and right way to do it.
That is just your judgment. How about backing up your statement with Scripture and not your subjective opinion. I did.
You two have actually turned people from God.
I agree with John on this one. That is a false statement. People start from a position of being turned from God.
John has shared many messages with me, although he won't tell me who they are from, of people who he has helped in bringing them to the Lord. Of course, they had to be receptive to hearing the truth.
He has also shared messages from people who already believe who tells him to continue to preach the truth and correct the untruths.
I have no doubt that Jesus will say to John "Well done, good and faithful servant" because he continually strives to give people the truth.
So tell me, what have you done to give people the accurate Word of God? Maybe you should be the one taking the walk down Introspection Lane and ask yourself some honest questions. Are you believing God, Jesus and the Bible to be 100 percent true? Are you preaching the truth to others? Or are you actively trying to silence the truth so that others can't hear it.
Another question you should ask yourself. How many times has John quoted something directly from Scripture, and the nonbelievers have almost immediately attacked him for it, and you sat back and did nothing, sometimes even encouraging it.
Do you think Jesus is going to say "Well done, good and faithful servant" to you?
No one likes to be condemned by another person who, in the end, is no better than anyone else.
I know I haven't, and I have never seen John condemn anyone. So your statement is just another in a long line of false statements against John.
