No Mark, you are completely wrong. You would think he'd be used to this by now.
Tax the Rich..They'll still be rich.
The top 1% of earners pay 37% of all collected income taxes. The top 50% of earners pay 98% of all collected income taxes. https://www.aei.org/publication/irs-data-the-top-1-pay-37-of-all-taxes-the-bottom-half-pay-2-a-blubbering-david-letterman-cant-believe-the-facts/How much more do you want them to pay Mark?
As much as long as it doesn't ever affect him.
I would like to see a rise in the bottom 50% tax contribution. But I don't expect that to happen.I would also like to see less wiggle room in corporate tax payments so that individuals didn't have to shoulder so much of the burden. But I really don't expect that to happen.
I agree on the corporate tax increase and removing of loopholes but for the poor to pay more in taxes is unfair, silly, and cruel.
How is it unfair?
How much more do you want them to pay Mark??More. Pre- Kennedy tax rates.
Just as long as it doesn't affect you. Right,Mark? You want tax rates at 90%?
but for the poor to pay more in taxes is unfair, silly, and cruel.?But with deductions, their income tax has been reduced to effectively zero. Many times they get back more than they paid. They should pay some income tax. Even 1.7% or something.
If they pay NO taxes. They shouldn't get any back.
They pay income tax throughout the year on their payroll. But when they file and use all the deductions available they end up getting it back. And sometimes more than they paid in.
No one should get more back than what they contribute.
