Then why are you not concerned with HRCs activities?
I am. If her campaign displayed the behavior. I find that disgusting and un-American. I am no Hillary fan. The fact is she is not President. I want the President to look out for our American National and not the Russians.
I will leave to Mueller the legal aspects.
However I did find this:
You may have crossed the line on conspiracy to commit election fraud or conspiracy to obtain information from a foreign adversary,
Other legal minds agree. "It's a shocking admission of a criminal conspiracy," said Jens David Ohlin, associate dean of Cornell Law School, in a statement shared with The Post. "The conversation will now turn to whether President Trump was personally involved or not. But the question of the campaign's involvement appears settled now. The answer is yes."
The Trump campaign and people close to Trump said for months they had NO CONTACT with anyone from Russia. Yet, all we've found is constant contact from them with Russia! To the tune of Trump Jr releasing his own email chain with Russia.
The lies about contact should be concerning if nothing else.
Once again...nothing came out of the meeting. It lasted 20 minutes and the lawyer had nothing. No matter what reason he went to the meeting, Junior did nothing wrong. There is no law against getting info on your opponent in an election. HRC bought and paid for a phony dossier on Trump. Where is the outrage over what she did? She actually got info from a foreign gov't where Junior got nothing. As for as I know you haven't committed a crime when you just think about it.
You may have crossed the line on conspiracy to commit election fraud or conspiracy to obtain information from a foreign adversary
There is no law either way regarding 'conspiracy to commit election fraud.'
'Other legal minds agree. "It's a shocking admission of a criminal conspiracy."' Obviously this legal mind is confused. First off criminal implies felonious. These are civilian laws. Second, see above. Proving conspiracy would also require proving intent. There has been no shown attempt at proving intent.
Can anyone show where there was a violation of the Federal Election Campaign act of 1971?
Not sure where the investigation will go - but the possible problem is this.
It is illegal to receive campaign contributions from a foreign government. Contributions are defined as anything of value. It you consider official government documents that would help the trump campaign as an item of value - then it is possible that
Jr and the others there could be in violation. I am not sure if the intent to receive is enough to break that law or if there had to be an actual exchange - which may or may not have happened - not sure anyone not in that room actually knows what was said - exchanged.
And Jr has changed his story so many times on this - not sure his word is very credible anymore.
"A foreign national shall not, directly or indirectly, make a contribution or a donation of money or other thing of value, or expressly or impliedly promise to make a contribution or a donation, in connection with any Federal, State, or local election."
Even without receiving it, the solicitation of the information is also a crime.
I understood accepting the email, responding, and agreeing to meet "and love it", all fall under conspiracy given what the intent of the meeting was. You don't have to leave with dirt--just willing to go. She was a foreign national--whether a govt. official or not.
He may have set it up, but Kushner is in the office. So, Eric shouldn't be the patsy on this IMO.
Well happy to allow the investigators do their job and see if they feel there was anything illegal here.
But still sad that it seems that is where we now have the bar for our elected officials - at least they are not felons
Jr's actions, on his own admission in the emails he shared are plenty for me to believe he was more than willing to meet with a foreign national to receive official Russian documents to help his fathers election.
If you don't think there is anything wrong with that, I don't know what to say.
