Emperor of Kingwood --- 76 days ago -

And the NFL (owners and Commissioner) have already granted that players can do this, so it's really a non issue. Correct?

Well maybe to you, but to millions of people its an issue and they will speak with their wallets.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 76 days ago -

When will his base realize they bought a pig in a poke from a traveling salesman -

You say that because you are omnipotent in the ways of a POTUS? Or, you just base it on what you've seen in the past. Using that logic we would still be under British rule.

BuiltinTX70 --- 76 days ago -

Well maybe to you, but to millions of people its an issue and they will speak with their wallets.

Non issue, in that they aren't at risk of getting fired for it.

Bosses see that their workforce agrees on an issue, and they are helping. Makes complete sense.

Wallets? People will continue to watch. Remember, even before all this, attending an NFL game was trending downward. Cost, parking issues, replays, food choices, etc. 70 inch HD TV's..........

You can make a great case that staying home is the better way to watch the NFL.

Having said that, health issues will ruin the game first before people's wallets.

Oh, and BTW, didn't Trump call for more hitting and violence?? (real smart guy considering what the NFL is dealing with as far as CTE)..........

Four Pinocchios --- 76 days ago -

witchywoman

But feel free to go right back to insulting others just because their opinion doesn't agree with yours.

Look, witch; if you feel insulted, that is on you, not me. I don't care what anyone's opinion of me is on this board. The day I do is the day I shoot myself in the face. Not caring what strangers think is very liberating!

Now let's tackle this little gem

sensitive little witch wrote: If you really want to worry about our military worry about the fact that North Korea is now threatening to fire upon us because of Trump's big mouth.

Yes, the whole N Korean conflict is all due to President Trump's mouth. Everything is Trump's fault! Since no one can obtain nuke capability overnight, if we apply your logic, those nukes that the fat little Korean dictator has been trying to perfect for all these years was all done in advance preparation of a Trump presidency.

Hilarious is understatement.

This conflict has been brewing for decades. The last 8 years of an inept obama administration certainly did nothing to strengthen the United States' position. obama ignored Defense Intelligence Agency reports regarding N Korean nuke capability. Trump is actually taking the threat seriously.

I agree that Trump's mouth certainly isn't helpful, but to state that said mouth is the reason N Korea may fire upon us is...intellectually dishonest.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 76 days ago -

Yes they can.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 76 days ago -

You must be privy to some sort of special intel that our own intel services don't know. Do you mean to say all this started when Trump was inaugurated? You mean NK hasn't been rattling the nuclear sword for 20 years?

Nope, Emp. It's all President Trump's mouth.

Not even our little kangaroo buddy can help...

Well, duh...they certainly could.

But when you see owners, the Commissioner, and players all in unison, it's pretty safe to say that anyone protesting (that is, taking a knee) during the National Anthem isn't getting fired in the near future.

Comprende?

I have to admit, I'm addicted to the Kangaroo.

Fired? Maybe not. But when DIRECTV started offering refunds to customers who demanded it after Sunday's games and a poll released today shows 64% of respondents felt the players should stand for the anthem, you can bet the owners and the NFL are going to sour on this whole stupid, virtue signaling charade real quick.

BuiltinTX70 --- 76 days ago -

Guess what? I feel they should stand for the Anthem. I know I would.

Guess what also? I feel it's their right to do it, even though I don't agree with it.

I'm in that 64%.

But I'm going to continue to watch the NFL because, the game is the thing :)

Not kneel downs before, nor praying afterwards..........

BuiltinTX70 --- 76 days ago -

When the start taking off their helmets to expose political statements on head bands, or after scoring a touchdown go to the bench to hold up a political banner......then you've got something.

Until then, stop being..what's it called??? Snowflakes???? LOL

Four Pinocchios --- 76 days ago -

Ford announced support for the player's right to protest.

My sister's father-in-law is a farmer who employs 23 hired hands. Of those 23 hired hands, Mr. B provides vehicles for 14 (big tax write off since the vehicles are used primarily for farm work)

Of those 14 vehicles, 14 are Ford trucks. Mr. B drives a Ford, my brother-in-law drives a Ford, my sister, nephew...they all drive Ford

Mr. B trades a vehicle after two years. he said his next fleet will be GM.

Granted, that is only one man and roughly 20 vehicles. This will not make or break Ford Motors.

But, if other Ford driving Americans share the same sentiment, it might spell a problem for Ford.

I drive a Ford, but only because I bought it second hand from Mr. B for low blue book value :)

BuiltinTX70 --- 76 days ago -

....hmmmm....but what about if a Subaru owner now decides, I'm going Ford????

I like their style :)

Snowflakes, BuiltinTx, are people like the dumb broad who got offended at the cotton arrangement at Hobby Lobby.

THAT, sweetie, is a snowflake.

I don't study consumer trends so this next statement is simply opinion - I'd hazard a guess that Ford is more likely to lose return business at a steadier rate than they gain new business.

Saturn --- 76 days ago -

I wouldn't object if the Air Force, the Marines, the Navy, or the Army refused to do a flyover at the Super Bowel.

I would support that ...

Four Pinocchios --- 76 days ago -

I am done with this controversy. Another controversy reared its ugly head today and I'm going to dive head first into the report from the United States Attorney's office - - it's interesting if you like college basketball.

Four assistant basketball coaches were arrested, a representative from Adidas was arrested...10 people total all in a "pay-to-play" scheme.

Although they weren't mentioned by name in the U.S. Attorney's report,
Louisville was notified separately that they are currently under FBI investigation. Since were placed on NCAA probation for hiring prostitutes for the players, it could mean the death penalty for the basketball program should these allegations be true.

Oh boy, I am indeed rambling! This is going to get good so I've found something else to occupy my time.

Toodles, folks!! Happy arguing!

The sport has been inundated with politics for the longest time (US military pays NFL to have the players stay out on the field for the national anthem [forced patriotism], and having military demonstrations during halftime, etc. NFL is US military empire propaganda 101).

I am glad that NFL players are taking a knee now. If people complain that they don't like people taking a knee because they don't want the game to turn political, its too late. It has always been an exercise in jingoism and flag-waving to promote empire abroad and more weapons sales for the military industrial complex, all while hiding behind the veil of "supporting our troops".

The rabid response from people crying "anti-American!" just because some guys took a knee to protest police brutality just goes to show how successful the propaganda has been. Any other person in a sane European country would laugh their asses off if you tried to say they are "anti-Germany" or "anti-Spain".

WatchOut --- 67 days ago -

Taking a knee is like praying. I don't get why the RWNJ's are complaining about it.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 66 days ago -

Taking a knee is like praying.

But its not. The difference is painfully obvious to the most casual observer.

the Markster --- 66 days ago -

Taking a knee is like praying. I don't get why the RWNJ's are complaining about it.

Perspective.
rwnj will not let themselves understand the truth behind the protest. I can't help but hear Trump asking "What do you have to loose" as he addresses Black Americans.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 66 days ago -

understand the truth behind the protest.

Yet again, you've failed to comprehend the issue.

Prolix Raconteur --- 66 days ago -

Still trying to figure out what they have that's too loose.

This country has been very good to those athletes- they're making money most of us can only imagine- instead of taking a knee during the anthem, they should share their paychecks with those they're supporting.?

Amen to that!!!!!
