Does anyone know of a great hair stylist in Kingwood. I live in the back of Kingwood and I don't want to drive that far, especially with the price of gas. Does anyone know if Urbana Hair studio, Arturo's or Shear Madness is good? Which one would you recommend and who would you recommend? If you know of other hair stylists at other salons in Kingwood I am open to any suggestions. I got a haircut about a month ago and it was the worst haircut ever. Thanks for your suggestions.

girl I tell you John at Arturo's is the best. I love him. He is hands down the best person imo to cut hair. I am not ever disappointed.

KwdIzMyNwHome --- 17 years ago -

Go to Jackie at Studio North. If she isnt available try her sister Mandi or Julia which are both in the same salon on Northpark next to Gold's Gym. They are young and do great hair!

happychic --- 17 years ago -

I went to John at Arturos and was not happy at all. I would love to hear some recommendations also. Been looking for a good salon in KINGWOOD. What about Park Avenue? Anyone use one of their stylists?

chappy --- 17 years ago -

My friends and I go to Jordan at Arturo's. She does great cuts and great color, too.

rkj --- 17 years ago -

Don't use John at Arturos.

Fallon --- 17 years ago -

wow, I have been going to John for the past 3 years. I never have a problem getting an appointment, and I am always in there and done within an hour and 15 min. Never been unhappy with color or the cut.

Sue --- 17 years ago -

I love Barbara at Grandstand. I wear my hair in a bob, and she knows exactly how to cut it. She used to work at Porter Walmart. I've been using her for at least two years, ever since my neighbor and I both quit Sara at Arturos.

Shana --- 17 years ago -

I here he can be expensive(Arturos). What is the norm for a foil, cut an style?

Fallon --- 17 years ago -

He is in line with anywhere else I have been in Kingwood. A cut and color is around 100.00. Highlights would be extra. Not sure of the cost, because since he has stated coloring my hair, I no longer need the highlights. It looks like I have them, I just don't:)

the conservatory is now officially "in kingwood", at royal forest/kingwood dr. intersection, which is the last one before the railroad tracks. it is $$$, but kylie and michelle are both great stylists. you can always use the coupon in the living magazine for a free haircut if you've not been!

CruisePlanner --- 17 years ago -

Marie at Arturo's -- very good and very reasonable!

willow10 --- 17 years ago -

I love Angela at Urbana!

happychic --- 17 years ago -

anyone use park avenue? Ive been thinking of trying there.

mommato3 --- 17 years ago -

I do not live in Kingwood, but shop there and use The Conservatory Day Spa and Salon. They are great. The guy I used to use changed careers and now I use Kylie. She is awesome. None of that salon talk. She quietly and precisely cuts my hair, makes suggestions and gives great feedback. I love that I do not feel the need to make conversation or gossip! I just shut my eyes and she does her thing and I just love it! Their products are great as well and the people are really nice.

freshhell --- 17 years ago -

anyone use park avenue? Ive been thinking of trying there.  Park Ave. has some of the best stylists in Kingwood. I go to Micah, and I know Amy is also great. If you don't want to spend big $$$, Tana's in Porter has gotten some great reviews on KU. I am tempted to try them after the results I have seen.

freshhell --- 17 years ago -

I love that I do not feel the need to make conversation or gossip! I just shut my eyes and she does her thing and I just That's the best part! LOL!

Shana --- 17 years ago -

You all appear to keep up with your looks.(kuddos to you) I admire that. But I, ladies, have let my self go. I need a new look. Kid off to college, empty nester, middle age, etc. Can you reccomend a stylist that has the talent to asses a new cut and color for my skin tone, etc. W/o joining a realityshow!

mommato3 --- 17 years ago -

Kylie at the Conservatory is really good at recommending things. I typically like to go to people with a talent, rather than a skill. She is talented, and kind.

Shelley --- 17 years ago -

Anyone every get their hair done at The Hair Place on 494?

txmama --- 17 years ago -

Jordan at Arturo's is the best cut, highlight, and style no more than $125 for long hair.

Katie D. --- 17 years ago -

Michael at Gatsby's in Atascocita. He is SO good! He worked at The Conservatory for 15 years prior to moving to another salon. The owners sold and now he's at Gatsby's.

AngieKaye --- 17 years ago -

I absolutely love Studio North on northpark next the JJ Christophers. They are great women, very friendly and do exactly what you want, not that expensive either. I use Lety there 281-359-0104

AngieKaye --- 17 years ago -

I pay 40 or so for long hair, thats wash, cut and style.

happychic --- 17 years ago -

Does anyone know what Michael charges at Gatsbys? I used him at the conservatory and then he left. I didnt know where he went. If he is at gatsbys I am going!!!

ikkeme --- 17 years ago -

John at arturo's is great - Lisa M, and there are other hair sylists there at the salon ...

Katie D. --- 17 years ago -

I think I paid $150 for a cut and full highlights. He's well worth it. He gives me the best highlights I think I've ever had. Plus, he's such a nice guy! :-)

crazycatlady98 --- 17 years ago -

I have gone to Amy S. at Park Avenue for almost 9 years now, and I LOVE her. She is excellent. I can tell her what I'm thinking, and she understands and does it exactly. Never been disappointed. HIGHLY recommend!

JHMO'S Mom --- 17 years ago -

Adrian's Hair Salon on 494 between Northpark and 1314 is the best. It is a small place not fancy at all but that dude can cut hair. I have been going to him for 16 yrs now. I have went other places when I could not get an appointment but I always go back. his name is Tracy Adrian and he is the only one at the shop. His wife will do color though. Very reasonable Like $20 for cut and style. But you will think you paid a hundred bucks. JHMO told me the last cut he gave me was the best I have ever had my hair cut. Try him once and you will never go to anyone else again. 281-354-0482

cowboyswife --- 17 years ago -

Cassie at Tana's of course....:)

Pixel Giggles --- 17 years ago -

Katie @ Tana's and for the price they ALL charge there believe me it is worth the little extra gas :-) There is even a coupon on their website for $5.00 off new customers.

Melanie --- 17 years ago -

Anyone every get their hair done at The Hair Place on 494? I used to go there, it was good, but pricey. I saw the free haircut ad for the Conservatory & went there & really loved it. But when I went back for color, cut & style plus tip, it was over $200.00! I cannot afford that! I go to Haircuts on Loop 494 & only use Alicia, the owner. Great cut, color & price!

Lucy --- 17 years ago -

Has anyone been to Kim at Shear Madness on Mills Branch lately? I was told she does a good job..any idea what a cut and highlight costs?

Strawberry123 --- 17 years ago -

I go to RuthAnne at Arturo's. She is very good.

KJ --- 16 years ago -

KERI AT GATSBYS SALON IS SOOO GOOD... SHE DOES AWESOME COLOR AND HILITES AND ENJOYS DOIN EVERYONES HAIR... SHE'S SUCH A LIEKABLE PERSON... DEFINITLY KERI.. CALL HER CELL SHE HAS STARTED MAKING HER OWN APPOINTMENTS... 409-466-8589 YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!

AFWife --- 16 years ago -

I'm going to be searching when I get there next week & I'm very picky about they way my hair is cut I my highlights are foiled (very short hair) not some silly cap...I hate doing this every 3-5 years....

achiles3602 --- 16 years ago -

Keri at Gatsbys salon is awsome. Very nice and flexible. She has a coupon right now too. Just tell her Amy mentioned the coupon and Im sure she will honor it...

Bows and More Galore --- 16 years ago -

Bree @ Patt's Parlor. Hands down the best I have ever seen. She does my hair, her mother (Patty) used to. She has a cut/color special on Tuesdays for $55 for first time clients. that tends to book out a bit. I REALLY REALLY Like her. And not just because she is my cousin. She has a gift, and is so honest....she will tell you if what you want to do will look stupid. Just have to ask:)

Bows and More Galore --- 16 years ago -

The shop number is 281-540-5405

moltobella --- 16 years ago -

I've been going to Kylie at the Conservatory for a few years and I really like her but I agree with Melanie, if I have a cut and color then it cost me around $175 and I have other things I need to spend my money on. My haircut costs $50 before tip and I usually say something like "keep the length as much as possible but do whatever else you want" or "I want bangs but everything else is up to you" and Ive only gotten a cut once that I was like ehh.
