and OMG, it was an AWESOME movie!! We loved Facing the Giants, so we knew this would be a good movie too. We went last night and I have to say, it was hard to keep from crying! But it had some funny moments too.
If you are married-or even if you're not-it is a good date movie and so realistic about love and marriage and how many of us fight to keep our marriages together. We will definately be buying it when it comes out on DVD!
I was curious about it.... I would love to drag hubby to it...but the whole sitter thing gets in the way.... dang it. And even though we will be in town and at the inlaws this weekend he still wont leave the kids with them.... :(
DH was reading about it today; apparently it did very well--4th place, even with the limited number of theatres it was showing in.
An interesting tidbit: The studio has a policy of not showing couples kissing onscreen if they're not married to each other. That goes great with Kirk Cameron's personal conviction not to kiss anyone but his wife. However, the script begged for a big kiss scene. So the studio flew in Cameron's wife and used her as a double, shooting the scene in silhouette.
Hmmm..you mean a good christian movie made it to the theaters??!! YEAH!!!!!
Yes, it's amazing that a good Christian movie made it to the theater and such a good one at that! I just cant wait till it comes out on DVD! We having Facing the Giants on DVD and have watched it many times!!
Where is the movie playing, Humble?
We saw it tonight and the theater was packed. Loved the movie...corny accents (by everyone but Kirk Cameron) but a great story. I'm used to the accents too because dh owns a Chick-fil-A and all the corporate staff (it's based in Georgia) have the same accent :)
It was funny to dh and me when Kirk Cameron brings his wife CFA food in that one scene and there were lots of audible comments about it by the audience in the theater. We knew it was coming (we saw the scene back in Feb at the corporate seminar...the guys who made the movie used to work for the company), but we were suprised that it would cause such a reaction :)
Again, a great movie....definitely one to by when it comes out on DVD
I liked it better the first time I saw it, back in 1991 when it was called Backdraft.
I just went and saw Fireproof and it was a great movie.
Storyline wasn't anything like Backdraft so don't really know what you were trying to imply.
