I said goodbye to my darling husband. I kissed him, said I love you and I will see you in a few hours and watched them roll him off to surgery. He was scared and worried. I promised him that he was going to be fine. Twelve hours later he was fighting for his life. Sixteen hours later God called him home and I was left here without him. I remember every second of that night and relive in over and over and over. The devastation and pain has dulled, but the sense of loss and the loneliness is still intense. He was my soul mate and he was my very best friend. I miss him still, with every fiber of my being. I know everyone on KU has their on problems and lives, but if you would, please take a minute say a quick prayer for me and my DD as we struggle through the next couple of days. I truly appreciate it. Bless you all!

Something just hit me.....after i made my last post....i remember where i was when i found out.....I was driving to Decatur to see my DH working out of town.....on that 4 hours drive I got 3 or 4 phone calls from KU friends letting me know what happened. This is what i think of when i think of KU.....Friends that are always there to make a phone call if someone needs support.

And you have set some great examples for the rest of us. I remember you coming to help when we were packing up Irishprincesses house. You knew what she was going thru and there you were. Thanks everyone. I know there are a few of us on here who have lost their DH's unexpectedly just within the last couple of years - Just Tiffany, Ladybug, Irishprincess come to mind. Unless you have lived it, you can't know the hell that it is. I ask that you pray for them too please. And for Michael who just lost his DW, Geri (travel4life). KU is full of wonderful, supportive people and I am proud to call many of them friends. I couldn't have made it through the past year without you guys. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done and continue to do!

Jaydeekay, I remember your phone call and the sense of shock and disbelief I felt. I cannot imagine what you must of gone through and still are going through. JDK...you are such a wonderful and kind person! You and your daughter are constantly in my prayers...and I hope you know that. I will never forget the fact that you pulled yourself out...not even a month after your husband died to come and help me pack up my house. I know how much that took! I know that someday you will find peace in this journey...you have such a good heart, and apparantly so did your husband since God picked him to come to Heaven as an angel. Here is a poem that brings me peace when I am having a bad day. I have not turned my back on you, so there is no need to cry. I'm watching you from heaven, just beyond the morning sky. I've seen you almost fall apart, when you could barely stand. I asked the Lord to comfort you, and watched him take your hand. He told me you are in more pain, then I could ever be. He wiped his eyes and swallowed hard, then gave your hand to me. Although you may not feel my touch, or see me by your side. I've whispered that I love you, while I wiped each tear you cried. So please try not to ache for me, we'll meet again one day, beyond the dark and stormy sky, a Rainbow lights the way. Sandy...you are so right...KU is a family and the KU angels are amazing and always have been.
