I'm assuming that the fire must have rekindled during the night since the smoke is very thick and you can smell it for a long ways. Is there a local website that will give information on if it is out, contained, what was affected? I've tried to do a search but can't find anything.

Look up the other thread for that Atas FD site

The observer said they put that fire out last night @ 9:30. You will still see lots of smoke for Days mainly in the mornings.

thanks suzy. This is the worst it has been since the fire originally started on Wednesday so I was trying to find out the status.

Just put out last night? I called the fire department 2 nights ago and they said it had closed and been extinguished as of 4:20pm. I'm so confused.

I smelled it today too. It's really strong over here.

DW: I talked to a friend that lives in that neighborhood yesterday morning and she said it had rekindled during the previous night. I'm assuming that it must have rekindled again last night since the smoke was so thick on WLH this morning. It looks like they put it out again.

It will always seem thick in the morning, because the smoke sinks (like fog). It will lighten up as it gets warmer today. The last trucks left the scene at 9:30 yesterday morning. We will see/smell the smoldering for several days according to the Sheldon chief.
