If you feel that forcing tax-exempt Catholic charities to provide birth control in their insurance policy is unjust, would you permit a Muslim charity to provide an insurance policy based around its own teaching of Islam at a hospital that operated under Sharia law?

Keep in mind, in this scenario, you're paying the tax burden for this Islamic charity.

I do not feel church's of any kind should be tax exempt. They are a business imo.

How is a church a business?

You will have to be more specific.

I cannot judge a specific example against an unknown.

This is just further proof that the federal government should have no say in what anyone does with their bodies. This should be a states rights issue and even then it's a touchy topic but it's easier to regulate our "Representatives" at a state level than it is a federal level.

Government should never have been given the ability to make any law regarding the private lives of citizens and this includes their churches or religious beliefs. I believe that abortion should handled on a case by case basis and should certainly be regarded more serious than it currently is but still the federal government should not be involved nor should they be involved in contraception and certainly not in the insurance scam.

As for the Islamic part of this question, I think most Americans are misguided in what the Islamic faith really teaches. There are just as many American people who claim to be Christian that commit acts of violence every year in the name of "God" as there are terrorists who claim to do acts of violence in their "Gods" name.

***sigh****

Rev, please don't tell me you actually believe that Christians commit violence due to their Christians beliefs on the same scale as Muslims.....
Please tell me you are not saying that.....
