I am looking for a good nail salon in the Kingwood/Humble area, where I can get the french tips. I normally get the full acryllic but a friend of my recommended to just get the white tip because it does less damage due to the fact they dont use the e-files on your nails.

Nail Spot on northpark by the starbucks across from the walmart grocery store. THEY ROCK

I get my nails done A LOT... actually just took them off for the first time in YEARS.

One time I went into a random salon (not in kingwood) because I was in a hurry (wedding...) and she did my nails without the e-file. They turned out exactly the same, if not better, and she just used a normal nail file. She said the places that use e-files do it because they are too lazy to use a normal file and do the work themselves.

IDK if there are places like that in kingwood but you could look around. That way you can have the look of the acryllic/solar whatever without the severe damage :]

Properly trained techs use efiles without damaging your nails. Your technique has to be nearly flawless to use regular files or the customer needs to be patient because it's a learning process.

What kind of french tip are you looking for? Polish, gel, wraps?

RodeoGirlBling077 --- 9 years ago -

I just want a regular square french tip with a layer of gel or acrylic. Nothing fancy, just something that looks similar to a real nail. I have an event coming up in a few months.

I guess she was just really good then. Took about an hour...and I didn't wince once! It was actually pleasant! (Unlike the multiple times I wince when they go crazy on you with the e-file)

Can someone tell me what is an e-file? Just curious.

I go to Spa & Nails of America 2241 North Park.
Lee is wonderful. 281-359-6300.

Efile is an electric file. Can cost anywhere from $50 - $700.

Iluvdzny --- 9 years ago -

Didn't know there was really a difference in using an electric file vs a regular file.

The result is the same... but the electric file is faster.

The problem is that most techs in the area are in such a hurry that the e-file is unpleasant, painful, and it can do damage to your nails.

Any opinion on Tommy Nails in Kingwood

VIP Nails in Atascocita. I got nail fungus at the salon on Northpark near the Golds Gym.

AngieKaye --- 9 years ago -

ocean nails are great. I have been using them for years now. Ask for Rose or Van.

Cindy at Hair Benders on Russell Palmer uses a regular file. Mine always look awesome and I have known her for years. It usually takes 45 min to an hour. You need an appointment.
