Just wanted to give a shout out to Furniture Traditions in Humble. We just purchased quite a bit of furniture from them after shopping EVERYWHERE including craigslist! They have great brands and great prices. Hands down beat places like Gallery, Star and Ashley. When we sold our last house I got rid of everything that I didn't love - and what I kept were my good antiques and the furniture I had previously purchased from Furniture Traditions. I also have some of my grandmothers furniture she purchased there! Family owned and great service. If you are in the furniture market take the time to check them out. They are on 1960 East of 59, right at Townsend.
I completely agree with Riding Teacher! When we were buying new living room furniture, we looked at all the major stores...Star, Ethan Allen, Gallery, etc.... No luck. By chance, I noticed Furniture Traditions and pulled in. I should have started there! Ended up finding the quality furniture I had in mind at a price I could live with. They're not really cheaper than anyone else, but pricing is fair.
Sheddy - lots of flexsteel. My bedroom purchase was Broughton Hall. Sorry, can't remember all of their other major brands. Maybe Fairfield? I bought 2 really nice chairs and matching ottoman I think were fairfield.
