Yesterday a member of Congress said funds for Planned Parenthood should not be held up. She said the video showing Planned Parenthood wrongdoing was edited.

That is a pretty lame excuse, because almost all video uploaded to Youtube and other web sites: 1) Must be shortened. It would be difficult to upload a 1-2 hour video of a conversation; and 2) Who would watch a video that includes 30 minutes of people talking about a meal or the weather.

Imagine if KHOU showed 30 minutes of video when it only wanted a 20 second sound bite to go along with the story line. Nobody would watch the station.

Planned Parenthood, founded by Margaret Sanger who delivered lectures to the KKK on Eugenics (Improving the population by reducing minority birth rates), is an organization devoted to making money by killing the babies of minorities. Look at where their abortion facilities are located.

I find it amazing that the liberals would support an organization (Planned Parenthood) with ties to the KKK.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 3 years ago -

Ray, that was a long time ago!

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 3 years ago -

the facilities are in areas of low income-

Butterbean --- 3 years ago -

The other threads too long for you to wade through, Ray?

RayofHope --- 3 years ago -

Ray, that was a long time ago!

Good point, but it's a little amazing that a bust of Margaret Sanger is in Washington between busts of Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. If Sanger had her way King and Parks would never have been born. Sanger said that blacks were like weeds in a garden that needed to be destroyed.

Also, many people are making the reasonable argument that Planned Parenthood is carrying out the goals of Sanger.

RayofHope --- 3 years ago -

But, aside from Sanger, attacking Planned Parenthood video because it is edited is pretty lame. Almost all video on Youtube is edited.

Behold the pale horse --- 3 years ago -

Ray, that was a long time ago!?

So was the Confederate flag.

RayofHope --- 3 years ago -

The mantra is that the Planned Parenthood video was edited. The truth is that editing video for Youtube is the norm.

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. ............Joseph Goebbels

Why, yes, Ray. If the edited version were the only available, it would become true.

Anybody actually prosecuted or found PP to be doing something illegal?

Nope.

Abortion is legal. It is the woman's choice, to the exclusion of all others.

RayofHope --- 3 years ago -

It is the woman's choice, to the exclusion of all others.

Including the baby involved. How unfortunately.

Legal does not equal right, and it does not end the discussion.

Is it just me or this title messed up?

Butterbean --- 3 years ago -

Well yeah. PP probably didn't edit the thing, but I think the identification is not in doubt.

Edited to include: Spelling is tough sometimes.

If Sanger had her way King and Parks would never have been born. Sanger said that blacks were like weeds in a garden that needed to be destroyed.

It would be so awesome if you were educated; and if you are educated, it would be awesome if you were honest.

Your lies are ridiculous, and further the idea that conservatives are just puppets on a stick who lack any critical thought, logic, reason, and ability to make rational arguments.

One of Sanger's actual quotes DOES discuss "weeds," but contrary to the Conservative myth that Sanger was anti-black, she was in reality a supporter of eugenics. Do you know what eugenics is?

If plants, and live stock as well, require space and air, sunlight and love, children need them even more. The only real wealth of our country lies in the men and women of the next generation. A farmer would rather produce a thousand thoroughbreds than a million runts.
How are we to breed a race of human thoroughbreds unless we follow the same plan? We must make this country into a garden of children instead of a disorderly back lot overrun with human weeds.

In a home where there are too many children in proportion to the living space, the air and sunlight, the children are usually overcrowded and underfed. They are a constant burden on their mother's overtaxed strength and the father's earning capacity. Such homes cannot be gardens in any sense of the word.
- Radio WFAB Syracuse, 1924-02-29, transcripted in "The Meaning of Radio Birth Control", April 1924, p. 111

Misattribution:

Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated.
Unknown source, attributed by Life Education and Resource Network (LEARN) [25] and by Roger L. Roberson, Jr, The Bible & the Black Man: Breaking the Chains of Prejudice (2007), p. 18.
Seems to take "human weeds" from "a garden of children instead of a disorderly back lot overrun with human weeds" or from "the gradual suppression, elimination and eventual extirpation of defective stocks? those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization" and "exterminated" from "we do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea."

Sanger didn't want WHITE women to be "breeders" if they weren't genetically fit, didn't CHOOSE to be mothers, and couldn't financially and emotionally care for their children. She wanted European women to stop having babies for a decade - why? Because hunger, poverty, neglect.

Here are some more quotes:

"It is apparent that nothing short of contraceptives can put an end to the horrors of abortion and infanticide."

"The basic freedom of the world is woman's freedom. A free race cannot be born of slave mothers. A woman enchained cannot choose but give a measure of that bondage to her sons and daughters. No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her body. No woman can call herself free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be a mother." (she wasn't speaking of black slaves - this is where critical thinking comes into play)

"Woman must have her freedom; the fundamental freedom of choosing whether or not she shall be a mother and how many children she will have. Regardless of what man's attitude may be, that problem is hers; and before it can be his, it is hers alone."

"While there are cases where even the law recognizes an abortion as justifiable if recommended by a physician, I assert that the hundreds of thousands of abortions performed in America each year are a disgrace to civilization." (this contradicts the assertion that Sanger was "pro-abortion.")

And the most important

The church has ever opposed the progress of woman on the ground that her freedom would lead to immorality. We ask the church to have more confidence in women. We ask the opponents of this movement to reverse the methods of the church, which aims to keep women moral by keeping them in fear and in ignorance, and to inculcate into them a higher and truer morality based upon knowledge. And ours is the morality of knowledge. If we cannot trust woman with the knowledge of her own body, then I claim that two thousand years of Christian teaching has proved to be a failure.

It's rather disgusting how willfully ignorant people choose to be.

Planned Parenthood, founded by Margaret Sanger who delivered lectures to the KKK on Eugenics (Improving the population by reducing minority birth rates), is an organization devoted to making money by killing the babies of minorities. Look at where their abortion facilities are located.

^ SMH

Ray, this is what Sanger said about that lecture

"Always to me any aroused group was a good group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the women's branch of the Ku Klux Klan at Silver Lake, New Jersey, one of the weirdest experiences I had in lecturing. [...] Never before had I looked into a sea of faces like these. I was sure that if I uttered one word, such as abortion, outside the usual vocabulary of these women they would go off into hysteria. And so my address that night had to be in the most elementary terms, as though I were trying to make children understand.
In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered. The conversation went on and on, and when we were finally through it was too late to return to New York."

I will never understand why so many Americans CHOOSE to be so ignorant and refuse to read anything more than an internet meme, taking it as fact.

I find it amazing that the liberals would support an organization (Planned Parenthood) with ties to the KKK.?

Wow.

Just stop before you hurt yourself.

smartypants --- 3 years ago -

I find it amazing that the liberals would support an organization (Planned Parenthood) with ties to the KKK.?

We support the Constitution, which was conceived, written, and signed by slave owners. So what.

jacobson --- 3 years ago -

I find it amazing that the liberals would support an organization (Planned Parenthood) with ties to the KKK.

I don't.

Abortion is legal. It is the woman's choice, to the exclusion of all others.

Both of those statements are false.

It would be so awesome if you were educated; and if you are educated, it would be awesome if you were honest.

LOL, personal attacks again jams? I'm sure that your educational level and honesty is not superior to Ray's.

fuzz81 --- 3 years ago -

Is abortion illegal, jacobson?

a889324uu --- 3 years ago -

LOL, personal attacks again jams? I'm sure that your educational level and honesty is not superior to Ray's.?

I guarantee my education and honesty is superior to not only Ray's but yours as well.

God just made me better than you two.

However, I notice that your complaint is against my perceived "personal attack" and not against the argument I made.

Why? Because I know you aren't as dumb as you want us to think you are, and you know my argument against Ray's lies, based on actual proof/quotes, is solid.

Sanger didn't support the KKK and she didn't support the extermination of blacks, contrary to the constant lies the religious, conservative base pushes.

Facts are facts regardless of whether or not you believe them.

jacobson --- 3 years ago -

I guarantee my education and honesty is superior to not only Ray's but yours as well.

LOL, not a chance. You show your lack of knowledge daily.

Sanger didn't support the KKK and she didn't support the extermination of blacks, contrary to the constant lies the religious, conservative base pushes.

Yes, she did.

Facts are facts regardless of whether or not you believe them.

Yes, they are, but it's a shame you don't believe in facts. You're constantly on the wrong side of facts.

Behold the pale horse --- 3 years ago -

"[We should] apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring."

While the above quote may sound like Adolf Hitler, its really Margaret Sanger.

Behold the pale horse --- 3 years ago -

"Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race."

Margaret Sanger

Butterbean --- 3 years ago -

Yeah. And because that didn't happen, we got Jake, and logic, and Dread.

Behold the pale horse --- 3 years ago -

Margaret Sanger aligned herself with the eugenicists whose ideology prevailed in the early 20th century. Eugenicists strongly espoused racial supremacy and ?purity,? particularly of the ?Aryan? race. Eugenicists hoped to purify the bloodlines and improve the race by encouraging the ?fit? to reproduce and the ?unfit? to restrict their reproduction. They sought to contain the ?inferior? races through segregation, sterilization, birth control and abortion.

Behold the pale horse --- 3 years ago -

Yeah. And because that didn't happen, we got Jake, and logic, and Dread.

Your statement is nearly as repulsive and offensive as Sanger, maybe more so because Sanger never applied it to a named individual.

Behold the pale horse --- 3 years ago -

Suggesting that the world would be better off had people with whom you disagree simply be aborted is as anti American and repugnant as it gets.

But, naturally mods will give you a free pass on that.

Behold the pale horse --- 3 years ago -

Sanger is right about this,

"The most serious charge that can be brought against modern ?benevolence? is that it encourages the perpetuation of defectives, delinquents and dependents. These are the most dangerous elements in the world community, the most devastating curse on human progress and expression."

fuzz81 --- 3 years ago -

Legal, woman's choice. Move on.

jacobson --- 3 years ago -

Legal, woman's choice.

FALSE.

fuzz81 --- 3 years ago -

Is it illegal Jacobson?

Behold the pale horse --- 3 years ago -

Legal, woman's choice. Move on.

It was once legal to own slaves. I was once legal to prevent women and blacks from voting.

Hope you guys are getting the point. If you don't understand what you are seeing in this blog, check out a book by Kirsten Powers. It's The Silencing - How the Left is Killing Free Speech.

She (Powers) is actually a liberal. I saw an interview with her the other day. She pointed out that in the 50's and 60's, individuals could disagree with each other without vilification.

Now she says the left is making disagreement unacceptable. Liberals want everyone to believe the same and say the same things (I.E., they do not approve of diverse opinions). Conservatives are being turned into demons by the left.

You can see it on this blog.

fuzz81 --- 3 years ago -

At least you admit abortion is legal.

There's no similarity to slavery. Move on.
