Oilfield work.

We have a friend who was laid last year and he started a power washing business...I didn't realize how lucrative it really is! 

I worked in the Directional Drilling section. Thought we had weathered the worst of the downturn... but I was wrong.

We're definitely hoping that we get busy! In fact, I am happy to pay referral fees, so if you hear of anything, let me know.

Does your friend work in Kingwood? 

No, he's closer to the Bunker Hill area. 

And super weird, my husband JUST told me that his friend called him and said Brian Hoyer called him for an estimate to power wash his deck.

Business is very good for him right now, and he's not even been doing this for a year.
He started with a very small, personal use washer and has now had to hire a few people as he's getting contracts for large commercial spaces/apartments.

Heck, maybe I need to go into the power washing business too LOL!

A couple of years ago, a buddy of ours told us that if we bought the machine, he'd get the jobs. So, we bought a very nice pressure washer and were ready to make some extra money, but then our buddy flaked out... big time. That's how we got into it.

Since we're just getting started, it isn't quite lucrative yet, but it seems that the word is going to spread quickly!
