Help us bring home Daria this Christmas. Daria is a sweet girl from Poland, who is in the 10th grade and has been in an orphanage her whole life, and has never been adopted or hosted to a family. At our Church, Humble Area's First Baptist Church, they give families an opportunity to adopt or host a child from overseas. Daria's picture caught my eyes, and she is the oldest of many children who are in need of love. One thing on her list is to visit Texas. She has never been to the USA and she also wants to learn English. Her dream is to own shoe boutique. God put it in our hearts to bring her home to us, to share the love of Jesus with her and the love of a family.

Daria's Fundraiser 

Hopefully she's old enough or smart enough not to believe that ridiculous story you are going to be shoving down her throat constantly.

BLOOM's Statement of Faith:
Bloom's Board, Staff and Volunteers in the USA, along with our Host Families, attest to being of the Christian faith. Our foundation is that of doing ministry. Therefore, we consider our Hosting Programs and Short Term Mission Trips abroad BOTH as "Mission Trips". Therefore, we must be like-minded individuals, (a "Mission Team"), who are going on a "Mission trip" together with a primary goal of sharing God's love for orphans through the example of a Christian lifestyle.

What is an Orphan Hosting Program? BLOOM's hosting programs invite orphaned children from other countries to come to America for 4 weeks-8 weeks. During this time, the child experiences the love of Christ through a Christian family who exemplifies Him while living together in their home. In addition, through family time together, children quickly develop a basic understanding and use of the English language. In turn, they develop a higher self-esteem and a feeling of accomplishment in many ways! 

DE125: Daria is in 10th grade, and she is working to prep for an occupation in sales. Daria loves shopping and dreams of one day opening her own shoe boutique. A mature and independent young woman, Daria enjoys taking care of younger kids , though she'd learn a lot from having older siblings. Daria expressed that she'd like to visit Texas someday. Her friend shared her own experience with Daria, and Daria hopes to live that experience for herself in the future. When visiting the U.S., she also hopes to learn English. Daria loves pizza and tomato soup with rice, but dislikes mushrooms. She likes dogs more than cats. Daria is part of student council and serves in a role similar to a class vice president. She responds well to compliments.

So far we have raised $1,100. $1,900 left to raise. $3,000 is the goal and we have until October 31. I haven't been able to donate yet since I haven't received my first 3 paychecks, since I am new at my job and had tons of paperwork to fill out. When I receive my paychecks they will be going into Daria's fundraiser. I don't make a lot of money, reason why we are doing a fundraiser. AFD may be doing a Fill The Boot possibly this Saturday as well. Our church is selling t-shirts to help the families who are hosting and adopting. Im getting excited..I know that God will make it happen if it's meant to be.
