Trump?s war on the media is just beginning.

Trump continues to bypass the lamestream media by communicating with the public directly.

Trump has continually targeted and demonized members of the press,
whom he has proclaimed the ?enemy of the American people.?

This is so funny. The only enemy of the American people is Trump. The press are his enemy because they don't bestow blind adoration on him like his 35% do. Refer to the OP as a good example of this. LOL

I know Trump is no historian, but the first amendment, the freedom of the press, comes before the right to bear arms. I think there's a handy list hanging on his office wall, titled Bill of Rights.

I don't think the founding fathers considered "hurt feelings" and "twitter finger" as a just cause for scrapping #1...But, yay! Go Team Trump! Revise that pesky Bill of Rights.

urabunchcats --- 169 days ago -

Exactly what rights are being infringed?

Here is a hint - None.

JustWatching --- 169 days ago -

Doesn't the President have the Freedom of Speech too?

urabunchcats --- 169 days ago -

Yes he does!

Again, please explain the benefits of eliminating the first amendment, the freedom of the press, specifically?

(Freedom of the press, is not necessarily the same as freedom of speech, that is why they are listed separately. Smart thinking founding fathers--)

JustWatching --- 168 days ago -

Nobody that I know wants to eliminate the Freedom of the Press. What we want is for them to report the news with no bias. We don't want them to make it up or give their opinion like it is news.

Over reaction from the left.

No one is trying to eliminate freedom of the press.

Why didn't the founding fathers, or any other president, consider the press "the enemy of the American people?"

Apparently, the conservatives, have a low fear threshold. Something, Trump has enjoyed exploiting.

"Afraid? Here, here is the reason, it's the press. Look at them..."

Don't let your lizard brain get the best of you.

The rest of us see Trump trying to lay the groundwork for eliminating dissenters, specifically the first amendment, and freedom of the press.

It is not the presses job to stroke his feeble ego. Never has been. Something the founding fathers understood. There are real threats to deal with, and the press isn't one of them.

Focus your fear in the right direction.

JustWatching --- 167 days ago -

Why didn't the founding fathers, or any other president, consider the press "the enemy of the American people?"

Because the press has never attacked any other President like this one. They make up phony stories and when they are proved wrong they put the retraction on page 10. I have never seen such bias reporting in all my life.

Oh, really? I think his greatest threat remains his shaky temperament, that lashes out whenever he doesn't hear kudos. Run for the head of a Communist country if you can't handle mixed reviews, not a democracy. There is a reason they don't have a free press, and the US does.

How did all the prior presidents deal with their detractors with comparative grace and dignity, while he is setting fires left and right?

"Fight fire with fire" is the anthem of a toddler who lacks language skills, not a reasonably well adjusted adult.

Ali didn't go around starting boxing matches with everyday detractors. Why would he? It is a waste of better used power and energy.

Other presidents were seasoned politicians who developed thicker skin. Trump is a thin skinned businessman who is used to people being submissive to him.

The future is uncertain but get ready for more presidents who have short fuses, cheated on their spouses, done drugs etc...the Reagan era is over and standards have been lowered. Better get used to it...its going to come from both sides. Trump has rewritten the rules and lowered expectations. Dignity has abandoned politics.

Soooo sad. An article covering Obama's everyday routine, discussed how he watched ESPN, and aides new not to change it, because he didn't have the time or energy to hear talking heads. It bugged him, zapped his energy, and focus, so, he turned it off. He talked about how he had to exercise, because of stress, and he picked teams that pushed him. That is how well adjusted people handle stress.

It went on to talk about how he only had certain suits, because he didn't have time to waste on deciding what looked better. There was too much to do.

So why are these fights being waged when there is so much more to do?

I hear what you're saying, and it's really sad.

Defcon1 --- 167 days ago -

Let me know when he quits bowing to the criminal federal reserve bankers and stops calling air strikes in foreign nations based on lies...THEN I'll be impressed.

sdanielmcev --- 167 days ago -

You mean like Kennedy or Clinton? LBJ? Huey Long?
There is no dignity in politics. It's a dirty business. Always has been. Go chase your unicorns.

All the people you named are/were politicians. Pres Trump was a businessman when he was elected. He really isn't worried about being politically correct.

Politically correct is not the same as civility, basic morality and a sense of ethics. A diplomat is required to have negotiation skills, not bullying skills. He bragged about them, but his main technique is to lie until he is forced to tell the truth under perjury. Then he gets dirt from strong arms.

Say what you want, but when you treat the people within your own country and who you represent with unwarranted hostility and aggressiveness, that is a personality disorder. If he was an NFL quarterback, he's be booted. If he were a soldier...he'd be out....he can't live up to the moral standards of those he leads. Sad.

I would say the press treats him just as bad and just as aggressively as he goes after them. If they can attack him then why can't he respond?

JustWatching --- 152 days ago -

Please show me where the press does what you are asking Pres Trump to do. They put out false stories and have actually lied about him in their stories. It seems to me that once again there is a double standard. It's okay for them to attack the Pres but not okay for him to respond.

BTW...please tell me what news organization acts with civility, basic morality and a sense of ethics.
