But we are at the point where those at the bottom that also drive the economy, can't. Our economy is where it is as a result. When I say "Our economy" I am referring to those at the bottom 50%

Maybe you should point the finger at the guy who's been in charge for the past 6+ years. He said he was going to fix that.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 8 years ago -

I don't have to be omnipotent to say Trump will be the spoiler, running as an independent- every pub who's running at this point has been backing away from a moderate's view, so I'll probably be voting for Hillary-

Not KU --- 8 years ago -

Maybe you should point the finger
At the republican legislators that would not bring the jobs bill to a vote.

fuzz81 --- 8 years ago -

Soup.. Obama didn't create income inequality, and the pubs want to protect it. I'm sure trump wants to spread the wealth haha

Not KU --- 8 years ago -

so I'll probably be voting for Hillary-

Politically crushing on you right now

Oxfam made headlines at Davos last year with the revelation that the 85 richest people on the planet have the same wealth as the poorest 50 percent (3.5 billion people). That figure is now 80 ? a dramatic fall from 388 people in 2010. The wealth of the richest 80 doubled in cash terms between 2009-14.

The international agency is calling on government to adopt a seven point plan to tackle inequality:

Clamp down on tax dodging by corporations and rich individuals
Invest in universal, free public services such as health and education
Share the tax burden fairly, shifting taxation from labour and consumption towards capital and wealth
Introduce minimum wages and move towards a living wage for all workers
Introduce equal pay legislation and promote economic policies to give women a fair deal
Ensure adequate safety-nets for the poorest, including a minimum income guarantee
Agree a global goal to tackle inequality.

Have you even read the proposed jobs bill?

So what. Who cares what some socialist organization thinks.

Emp, go eat razor wire

Bob. try breathing for a change. Holding your breath till you pass out may be fun. But its dangerous. Why would I read the jobs bill? I have legislators for that. I trust our president to put forth a jobs bill that will benefit me. I write my legislators with my wants. Jobs, clean air and water etc.

Then why did the Senate under Harry Reid fail to pass it in 2011?

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

At the republican legislators that would not bring the jobs bill to a vote.

Typical low information voter response.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

Oxfam.......... LOL.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

Then why did the Senate under Harry Reid fail to pass it in 2011?

Don't confuse him with facts, Bob.

It really sets him off.

fuzz81 --- 8 years ago -

Soup you always complain about "attacking the messenger"

80 people have more wealth than 3.5 billion. Fact.

Not KU --- 8 years ago -

Q. Then why did the Senate under Harry Reid fail to pass it in 2011?

A. "The Senate has not voted on jobs bills sent by the House, any ?fix? for Obamacare or a domestic energy development bill. The Senate will not take up a real vote on the Keystone XL pipeline. "~By Jennifer Rubin August 4, 2014
Jennifer Rubin: Washington Post

"The Senate has not voted on jobs bills sent by the House, any ?fix

And why? Because the Senate under Reid couldn't muster the votes necessary from Dems to pass it.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

80 people have more wealth than 3.5 billion. Fact.

So. Not everyone can have the same wealth.

That's just how life is.

Figure this up: How many times more wealthy is Hillary than you? Go complain to her when you figure that out.

Not KU --- 8 years ago -

"The Senate has not voted on jobs bills sent by the House, any ?fix

And why? Because

It was a house proposal. Devil's in the details. Enough said.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

LOL......... we're talking about Congress here. Clearly and obviously not your forte, Mark.

Wrong again.

The one thing I will give the republicans, and of the reasons I will probably vote republican this time is that they DON'T promise much of anything...Leaning toward Rand Paul at this point.

Lucky me. Bob. You aren't the authority that the GOP looks to when screwing the regular voter.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

Can't back anything up. Can you, Mark?

Not KU --- 8 years ago -

I can back a trailer, a car, a boat, and I can back up that you are a pointless poster. What else do you need? Your pointlessness.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

Thanks for confirming.

You post and post. But when challenged. You scurry away from the topic.

New word for you today: OBFUSCATION

Get to Googling.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 8 years ago -

Lucky me. Bob. You aren't the authority that the GOP looks to when screwing the regular voter.

Mark blindly follows, like a good sycophant, every word and whim of his political masters. Its the new slavery.

Fox News has set a new standard for journalism excellence.
Just learned today on NPR (Not exactly a conservative news source) that the Fox debate set a record. It was the most watched political debate in history.

bahahaha!!

But seriously, you do realize the reason they got such high ratings was because, along with conservatives, the rest of us watching were doing so for the comedic value?

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

Hate to tell you this, but Fox has been number #1 for a long time before the debates.

Keep on hatin', though.

smartypants --- 8 years ago -

LOL did anyone hear the Donald re Megyn Kelly "she had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her .. Wherever"?

His broken mouth filter is why so many love him.

He's so tacky and classless, and is the least Presidential of the Sprinter van occupants.

But what do you expect from a disgusting slob that says he would date his daughter, if she wasn't his daughter. He's gross.
