I wish there was a way to make people live the life of those they criticize. To truly see things from the other perspective. The world would be a much better place if that was possible.

More kindness, more empathy and more compassion for others less fortunate.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 11 days ago -

The fact is, you could stay home and raise your kids because you had a spouse taking care of you and your kids.

That's what a man is supposed to do.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 11 days ago -

And you can overlook the reality that I'm NOT rich and what you think is rich might be alittle broad in its definition.

I'm working hard and taking care of myself and i did it without help or assistance from anyone, later in life. Other's do it too. So being "poor" shouldn't be a permanent status, it should be a transitional phase.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 11 days ago -

More kindness, more empathy and more compassion for others less fortunate.

That's fine but you seem to define compassion and empathy as using government power to redistribute wealth. That doesn't equate to empathy or compassion; its more like jealousy.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 days ago -

You lie, Tat. You've had post after post about growing up in Chicago with nannies and Daddy had money. Don't play that game.

I don't lie. "Daddy" had no money when I was growing up. Everything he made went back in to his company, to make it successful. Your accusations on this post are unforgivable.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 11 days ago -

And I agree with you. That is needed in society, we have a plethora of social programs do do just that. But again, transitional and not permanent IMO.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

Good thing I didn't ask for your "forgiveness."

I couldn't care less about your circumstances in life, it's the hypocrisy I find nauseating. Keep looking down your nose at others, it must make you feel good to do so.

jackass --- 11 days ago -

I am a proponent of a national sales tax

At what rate?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 days ago -

Did you not read anything I wrote? There's no hypocrisy from me- I have to wonder if these personal attacks from you are a personal problem. They're totally bizarre, and out of place on what was a civil thread.

shameless. Is this what MAGA means?

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

Tat, the hypocrisy is having a disabled husband that in no way paid into the system the exact amount needed for his care. He was on the public dole and if he wasn't, who would have covered all of his medical expenses? You don't care about those less fortunate but, by God, your circumstances deserved that money because he paid into it a drop of what he actually took.

When you post on a message board acting like Marie Antoinette and her "let them eat cake!" attitude, while you directly benefited from tax payers money, you are damn straight that makes you a hypocrite and I will call you out on it.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 1 hours ago - quote - hide comments

no, I don't. It doesn't make sense to me that poor people should be taken care of by everyone else's tax dollar-

But you feel your husband should be. There's the hypocrisy. Straight from your own mouth.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 days ago -

Luckily, I find your posts to be those of an extremely emotional and jealous woman. SMH

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

No, you find my posts to be embarrassing to you because you know I'm right.

You can think I'm jealous of you, that doesn't change the fact you directly benefited from unearned, tax payer money and will sit in judgement of others doing the same.

Shameless indeed. The thread title describes you perfectly.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 11 days ago -

DP, he worked all his life before he fell and injured himself.

Enough personal and inaccurate comments. Period

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

Go ahead, ice me and delete my posts. It won't change facts and it will only make you and Tat look petty and reinforce the fact that I'm right.

jackass --- 11 days ago -

Mark they want you to focus on the 1% decrease you might see in your tax bracket, not all of the deductions they?re taking away and giving to their corporate masters...

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

Let's not forget that the tax breaks for individuals are temporary, while those for corporations are permanent. Seems fair.

jackass --- 11 days ago -

Anyone who takes any government subsidy is on the dole. If public school benefitted you in any way you?ve benifitted from socialism...someone else?s money.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 days ago -

Not only did he work and make a lot of money before his accident, but I was married to him for 10 years, and he was on disability for only 1 year before I met him. He paid in way more than he received. I worked my entire life, and paid in my own FICA. I never went in to debt, or spent more than I could afford- I lived the way I believe people should live- take care of yourself and your family.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

More importantly, why would anyone want a poor, uneducated populace? How does that make us a strong, competitive nation? Only the richest get ahead while those less fortunate can suck it.

I'm pretty sure I pay school taxes every year-A lot longer than I had a child in school.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

And living in Texas, you will continue to do so since schools are funded through property taxes.

jackass --- 11 days ago -

Taking is taking regardless of how much you put in...no one has the right to judge anyone for it. You all took you all should just shut up...

Then you should support anti-education candidates so you don?t have to contribute to a better society. Maybe you can get yourself a bigger tv with the money you?ll save.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

I have zero problem with tax dollars being spent to better our citizens and help kids. I pay hefty property taxes, we are taxed on our earnings, which increase every year. I've never complained and never will.

This is how living in America works. It's not just about you.

the Markster --- 11 days ago -

Mark they want you to focus on the 1% decrease you might see in your tax bracket,

If it werent for the death tax that Trump is giving his kids, Id probably not care. But its there and I do. The 15% corporate tax break with no stipulations that will become permanent is just what the GOP is about. Ive only been pointing out since Bush 43.

Our rwnj audience takes exception to that and grow tired of my remarks and mock and or ice me in a lame, petty attempt to shut me up.

Anyone see Meet the press this morning.
House of Trump is coming down. So Id like to take a moment to flip a bird to all those "we won get over it" crowd.

Trump. How do you like em now?

esquala --- 11 days ago -

For general knowledge, after having read this thread, there are some gross misconceptions here.

Disability is a reduced amount of what you would have gotten for Social Security. It is not welfare. Any money you receive for disability is taken out of your Social Security, it does NOT come from the public dole. Your Social Security remains reduced for the remainder of your life.

Apparently some people like to come across as knowledgeable on this important topic.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

Trump supporters will never turn their back on him no matter what he says or does. It doesn't matter. As long as he isn't a Democrat, that's all that matters.

Same reason Roy Moore is still running in Alabama. Being a pedophile is ok, long as you're a Republican pedophile.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

So, based on what you're saying, esquala, someone mentally/physically disabled is getting paid from the social security they earned?

So, explain to me how people are getting paid disability for their disabled kids that never had a job and never paid into social security.

If a disabled person has no family and never held a job, who pays for their care?

What if someone only worked for 10 years and became permanently disabled? Are they only paid for the 10 years they paid in and are then cut off?

Can you maybe post a link on how this works? Thanks in advance!

esquala --- 11 days ago -

I was trying not to make it personal, but I was really specifying the situation you were discussing.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 11 days ago -

"and to the KU mod that Ices a vet on Veterans day. big middle finger to you too. Just a freedom hating narcissist. "

Lol, this is why you get iced. Right out of the cooler, again. You are a walking insult machine.

Try being nice. Supposedly you're all about that and "doing for others. " Try just not being insulting, goes a long way.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 days ago -

Esquala, even the situation on this thread, goes beyond earnings. Medical bills are outrageous and add up quickly. I have no problem with tax dollars or social security dollars helping people, whether they paid in or not. The point I was making is you can't have it both ways. You can't have your hand out to get help for your own family, while turning your nose up to helping others in the same way. That is wrong on every level.

esquala --- 11 days ago -

No one had their hand out in this situation. All medical bills were paid for with private insurance. How is that the same as having your hand out to get help for your own family?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 days ago -

DP, why do you make assumptions and put them on line as fact? You've been spewing blantant lies throughout this thread- I haven't made one personal attack on you, yet, despite leaving yourself wide open for one. Get over it, I can't make your life better, only you can do that-

the Markster --- 11 days ago -

You are a walking insult machine.

Try being nice

Thats great advise, try it sometime

Emperor of Kingwood --- 11 days ago -

Being a pedophile is ok, long as you're a Republican pedophile.

I suppose you have evidence of this.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 11 days ago -

I don?t have your issues Mark. Maybe I should call you a left wing nut job?? Lol

Emperor of Kingwood --- 11 days ago -

Mark typifies the victim mentality of the far left.
