we had to get ours fixed and I was wondering how many have had to replace parts or get a new one. 

My A/C went out last Friday and it just got fixed on Tuesday of this week. The compressor went out. Thank god I live in an apt complex an it did not cost us a thing. They put us up in the Guest suite and we stayed there. They brought a brand new unit and we are blessed. Now its working fine. Its a brand new one and its bigger. Plus I brought black out energy curtains so it keeps the apt cold the way we like it. 

had to have ours worked on this week - fortunately it was minor - no compressor or anything....yet,....we'll see how far this gets us....all that a/c stuff is too technical for me, so i can't really tell you what was wrong, just know it's fixed now for not too much $$$.......... 

Mine went out a month ago. 2 days in the sweltering heat was horrible. Fortunately, it only cost a few hundred to get us back up and running. I think all those 100 degree days were brutal on A/Cs 

Not really fixing but we've had the freon run out and we have it maintained once a year. 

That's why evey fall we've always had our gas heat checked before it gets cold and our ac in the spring before it gets hot. It's worth the service call. Too many people wait until they break down before calling for service. It's just a simple maintenance procedure. 

I am not saying cause the minute I say something positive, something will surely go wrong. :) 

All three units went down in Atascocita, one blew away at the beach. They still need to fix 2 of the Atascocita ones. 

Mine was burnt out by lightning during Ike, had to replace the whole enchilada...this year no problems so far. It's still under full warranty so I give it until the day after it expires! 

This is like asking if any of us are going to die.... Eventually we all will 

We just had to get a new compressor on Tuesday. Thank God we have a Home warrenty but still cost us $850. 

i had to have mine fixed. Strange thing, AC people came out and told me nothing was wrong. But..the inside temp kept going up and the unit would not turn on. Had to turn the whole system off then back on. It would work for a few hours then quit again. Turns out it was an electric conductor or something like that. Not bad...$189.00
