His movies are pretty dang good. Now he has done the remake to this early 70's movie. The movie scared the crap out of me when I was 7 or 8. This remake looks to be pretty dang good too.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Dh's always think we're neurotic over believing us. Why is that? LOL.

WTH are you talking about mabbers?

Mabs --- 14 years ago -

The storyline. LOL. Don't you remember when she finds those things? Remember her hubby?

Well the 70s version that is.

Oh good grief, well at least allude to a quote or something, sheesh.
But of course they do, wouldn't be a good movie without it ;-)

Toro's remake is gonna be cool I think...

I thought you were special. I thought you could read my mind. Pfft, I'm getting a java refill now.

Justwatching72 --- 14 years ago -

I'm not your dh or your kids, you are not allowed to make that assumption about me :-P

Mabs --- 14 years ago -

Justwatching72 --- 14 years ago -

Mabs --- 14 years ago -

Texas Pecan beans with hazelnut, white chocolate and macadamia creamers. My stomach thinks it's working.

Deltadawn --- 14 years ago -

I'm not clicking the vid until I know if this is the movie where they open a bricked in fire place and nasty things come out, is it that one?

Justwatching72 --- 14 years ago -

Nope, nope, nope! Not clicking it, not watching the new version of the movie either. Never should have watched the first one! Just remembering it is bad enough.

Justwatching72 --- 14 years ago -

I know! Wasn't it great? Very impressive for a movie made in 1973 :)

Deltadawn --- 14 years ago -

That one, and the one with the nasty spirit in the wooden doll, two movies I never should have watched!

Mabs --- 14 years ago -

You know, tv's make all the difference. I've yet to actually see a horror flick on the big screen. I'd probably have to smuggle in some Depends.

Deltadawn --- 14 years ago -

I watched both on tv - good heavens I can't imagine watching them on the big screen. Still have the occasional nightmare about them.

Puss In Boots --- 14 years ago -

I'd probably have to smuggle in some Depends.

I'd have to strap a portable kitty litter box to my furry little buttocks.... ;)

Mabs --- 14 years ago -

I can't imagine watching the Saw series in the theaters. They might as well dump ketchup from the ceiling to finish it off. With lumps of whatever gelatinous crap they can find.

Justwatching72 --- 14 years ago -

The Saw movies were not scary :-P

Mabs --- 14 years ago -

Justwatching72 --- 13 years ago -

Guillermo decided to do this movie because the original Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was the scariest tv production he had ever seen.

I agree, it was pretty dang good and scary.

They have a decent interactive website for the film too.
