Lake Travis or lake Austin are great lakes to visit and play on!! Ski shores on lake Austin and Carlos n Charlies or Johnny fins on lake Travis are great restaurants. 6th street is fun to bar hop and catch live music. West 6th is nicer than east 6th. Congress is fun and funky. Docs is a great bar and the trailer park eateries are fun. Acl festival is awesome if your planning to visit in sept or oct. The bats fly out from the bridge every night on town lake and they always draw a crowd. There is lots to do and I could go on for hours but there are a few suggestions. Oh yeah, if you want to rent a boat on the lake, go to just for fun and take the boat to devils cove on lake Travis. 

Oh I might want to mention devils cove is not for kiddos as there is a lot of drinking and partying on boats.
