I was looking at ad's ONLINE TODAY :)and came upon an ad for a coupon buddy coach. I sort of chuckled at the 15.00 per houR then extra for other stuff. I forgot that quick how it was worded, haha.I am getting old I guess.

Anyway, I just want to post this here so you all can understand how coupon stockpiling works. It is not like you will save thousands on product in one shopping trip or in one hundred trips lol.

You BUILD a stockpile up little by little as time goes by. This link will explain how it works, I really hate people are out there taking advantage of others in the name of saving a buck. It is NOT that hard to do this and with this breakdown it could help you,I hope.

http://www.hotcouponworld.com/2011/05/couponing-and-budgets/

It is how it works and there are no secrets. Some are very dishonest while using coupons, get products they should not be getting for free all sorts of ways they have been stealingThank God the new barcodes are on their way it will stop the thief. God sees all tho.

I just wanted to share this site here because I am blown away by some of the ad's on the internet, people paying to learn something that is simple. IF you can follw the link try and do some of the suggestions on there. You will be an extreme coupon king/queen in no time.:) Big tip, not to change your shopping budget from what it is and never stockup unless you can use it or give it to someone in need. Thanks, have a great day.

sells cycles, you need to know when those are. you pay bottom dollar for things when they are in the sales cycle.

Stockpile for what? Is there an eminent food shortage that I'm unaware of?

GrammyL --- 10 years ago -

Stockpile? for many reasons, cheap stuff to use in a financial crisis, hurricanes, helping those in need, maybe your living on foodstamps and get 200.00 bucks a month to feed 4 kids. Using coupons you can get 5 times the amount of food for what you normally get with 200.00. Stockpile for summer camping trips, vacations just all sorts of reason to use the coupons you pay for in your Sunday paper. lol And yes some out there believe the world will end and stockpile for that reason. However me personally, I think the END is END and i'm not going to need anything when that end comes. lol But there are many reasons and many people who do this . I was trying to post here so folks know the easy way to do it and not pay people for what it so simple to do yourself. I do relize there are people who this sort of thing falls below their standards and that's fine, they can afford to eat and live well and do not have a need to have an extra bar of soap or whatever. But there are some who this might be helpful for, those who do not know that the paper has Ivory Soap 3 bars @ Walmart for .98 and there is a 1.00 coupon. They could use it and get 3 bars of soap and give all 4 of their kids baths this week. But they wouldn't have known if I didn't list this here. And Friday is a long way away with no bath soap. :) That is all !

NOT if you have insurance. It amazes me the number of people on the news who have lost everything without insurance. One tv station did a report that $25,000 content insurance was only $100 a year. Come on people that is 2 starbuck coffees a month.

Tried couponing back in the mid 80s when the economy was much worst than now or 2 years ago. Then I realized that half the stuff I got I never used. Also if I spent the time working a little longer at my sales job instead of couponing I made far more $$$ than I saved couponing. I loved yard work and my yard was so beautiful. Two neighbors hired me to mow and keep their yard nice. Made way more $$$ in less time than I would have saved couponing.

GrammyL --- 10 years ago -

yeah, insurance takes time. most can not afford starbucks coffee in a year let alone 2 times a month lol the poorer of the world rent and do not have the funds to carry insurance. there is a great savings to be had using coupons, if used right. Nobody needs 10 toothpaste, but if you keep one give two away :) the Lord will bless you and you don't have a need to overwork yourself to make it in the world. That's how I see it!

GrammyL --- 10 years ago -

it's not about making more, it's about being blessed and a blessing , right where you are.

I think there is a support group for food hoarders.

you can not have 45 boxes of mac n cheese if you are giving 43 boxes to those in need. :)

When/where do you guys meet?

AFWife --- 10 years ago -

If you ignore Bob he'll be quiet :)

Also, insurance doesn't help right away when something major like a hurricane hits. The past few big ones in the US have shown that.

SuperFantastic --- 10 years ago -

whats the point of me saving on merchandise if i am giving it to someone else. So i am really losing money

Grammy,it would be great for you to post the deals every week! Maybe some of us would get off KU and go use those coupons. I did the coupon box when it wasn't that popular and did well. I feel guilty when I know I probably have a coupon sitting on my desk but I am at the store. I can stock up on toilet paper and cleaning supplies but we just don't eat at home enough to make it worthwhile. I end up throwing it away after it expires and I hate that!
You would be a great asset to Ku just telling about the weekly deals! Then we all could pay it forward to a charity.
Thanks for your efforts!

Awesome idea, ladybeachbum!

I LOVE the pay it forward idea!

I was at the KW HEB yesterday and couldn't find the almond milk. I called out to an employee who walked by and she didn't know. Just then, another shopper pointed out that it was in a cooler encap. She knew because she said that she just picked out a half gallon for herself. I thought that was really nice of her. So often, it seems like no-one cares or wouldn't even help, even if they knew.
Well, I just thought she was the sweetest shopper at HEB yesterday!
When I got to the cooler to pick out my almond milk, I saw that there was a yellow $1.00 off coupon for it hanging from the door handle. I caught the nice lady just in time and asked her if she had gotten the coupon and she hadn't so I gave her one. ZZZZzzzing, a Pay It Forward Moment!!! How cool was that?!?
( Yeah, I hear ya, they don't let me out much, but I get excited about the nice little stuff! ).

Aww that was really sweet of you!

GrammyL I hope you come back because I think that stockpiling (in moderation) is a GREAT idea! We do it at my house and it is wonderful to be able to go to the pantry and always have something to eat even when we may be a little short on cash!
