My daughter found a dog in Woodspring. She's walking her around the neighborhood to try to find the owner. If nobody claims her where can we taker her? I prefer a no kill shelter and all the vets are closed so we can't get her scanned for microchip. We have our own dogs so keeping her and putting out signs is not an option. 

You can't keep her until morning when you can take her to be checked for a chip? 

I would say better to let her loose than to take her to the Humble shelter which is a high kill shelter! She would at least have a chance that someone might pick her up that would/could really help her, at least overnight.

yes I was....she may just be loose from her yard close by while someone is gone....if my dog were loose by accident and a neighbor that doesn't know us picked her up, I would hope they would keep her overnight and if not, I'd prefer she be loose than at the shelter and possibly put to sleep!...that is IF she weren't chipped of course. All I am saying is that she if she won't even take time to make signs (she said that isn't an option) then what makes you think she would take enough time to drive her off very far to a NO kill shelter?...obviously she isn't willing to go to much trouble and the closest shelter is Humble...so a logical assumption based on her post. I would rather my dog be loose than at that shelter....yes, seriously!!!! Add...at least loose they have a chance someone that WILL keep overnight or go to trouble to make signs to find the owner is an option for the dog....turned into the shelter...not much hope. 

Shouldn't of taken the dog at all if you aren't going to make an effort to keep the dog for more than one day to find the owner.
