I just had a new unit installed at the beach from Elite Air 832-777-8380. They are Kingwood but still came out for me. Best young men I have met in a long while. Customer satisfaction are their key words. 

What's wrong with your unit ? Is the compressor kicking in? Or what ? It might just be froze up. Need to turn off let thaw and then turn on. Means its working too hard and need freon. Or if the unit outside isn't working then oops you gotta replace. Look at around 3000 for that. We put on a 5 ton on our 2000sqft home. Glad my husband did it! 

Also check your breaker for the ac. There usually is two one at the unit and one in the breaker box. Least this is how our builder did back in the 70s
