so I am doing this project for school and doing this survey. I need some feed back please on how you can relate to the Rodeo and how it influenced your culture. Do you think the Rodeo has an influenced on in society? I need a few different responses from people to compare it for my project.

Thank you! :)

I love the Rodeo......I am not a
Texan..but people keep giving me free tickets......so I go........I love the mutton busting....

Perfection --- 11 years ago -

Do you mean the Houston Rodeo or rodeos in general?

aggie girl --- 11 years ago -

It can be both.

Perfection --- 11 years ago -

Two different answers.

Rodeos - have influenced my culture by exposing me to others who see animals as cherished creatures who are challenging themselves to control the wild beast. additionally they bring families together in an activity where they can share history.

The Houston Rodeo has brought families together but not for history but for commercialism. At least it is bringing them together so that is a good thing.

The actual rodeo at the Houston Rodeo is a miniature version of a real rodeo without the ties to history

I always enjoy the calf scramble and what the program does for kids.

Love the mutton busting too...those little ones are so cute!

I usually go see a musical act, but even if they did not have that sort of entertainment, I would still go to the Rodeo. I enjoy looking at the animals and many of the other competitions.

LOL yea, small children ride a sheep for as far as they can without falling off...usually around 5/6 year old kids.
It is cute and entertaining...they seem to have a lot of fun!

mutton busting?

The Mutton Bustin' event, sponsored by State Farm Insurance, is a crowd favorite! Little Buckaroos "cowboy up" and hold on for six exciting seconds! The audience goes wild as these young rodeo contestants take a thrilling ride under the big lights of the AT&T Center.

I also have another question I thought about to ask about the Rodeo for my survey.
What kind of messages does the Rodeo embody?
