From the other thread titled "According to Kingwood Observer, Kingwood Dr. closed both ways":
All four lanes of Kingwood Drive will be shut down for hours as Houston Police Department personnel continue to investigate a fatal two-vehicle traffic accident.
According to reports from the scene, a car reportedly tried to change lanes, clipping the rear end of the vehicle in front of it. This caused the vehicle that was struck from behind to lose control and spin into the median, striking several trees.
"The accident killed an elderly woman driving the vehicle which was struck by the car attempting to change lanes," according to authorities at the scene.
A child riding in the victim's vehicle was injured and transported to a hospital. The child is expected to survive, sources say.
Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing. More information will be provide when available.
That is SUCH a dangerous area for driving, and with a bunch of newly released students it's even more dangerous for them and everyone.
Had to take my daughter to dance this afternoon and was passed by three teenage girls zipping in and out of traffic on Northpark, each going well above the speed limit. One each in a white, silver, and maroon sedan. And of course, I then sat next to all three at the Woodland Hills light too. Hopefully it won't continue to take tragedies like today's and the others up and down KW Drive and Northpark for people to show more care and concern while driving.
