Loved how Dempsey scored in less than a minute, and the winning header goal at the end was epic! USA needs to step up their passing/possession game though.

Indeed! Very proud of our grind out gritty effort,although we appear to be "chasing" the match too much. We definelty need to have more possession and push forward thus creating more chances .

I play in that league and it really is a great time. 99% of those in the league are there for the fun and exercise; very laid back attitude is had by all. I'm looking forward to the fall league starting back up!

As for the game yesterday, a win is a win but the US is going to have to step it up if they want to have a chance against Portugal on Sunday. Portugal is coming off an embarrassing thumping by Germany and I'm sure will be firing on all cylinders. Hopefully Altidor has sufficient time to recover from that pulled hammy. 

I'm looking forward to the fall league starting back up as well! Couldn't commit to the 8v8 this summer due to scheduling.

I'm really concerned about Altidore's injury. I suppose we will hear something today after he is examined.... I'm hoping for the best but mentally preparing for the worst. 

Oh, by the way, I took my 4 year old daughter to preschool this morning, and the first thing she says to her teacher is "I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN!!!" Then she jumped up and down saying "WE WON!!" I guess she enjoyed watching the USA game with us yesterday!

In spite of Altidore's injury,Portugal has more issues than we do. Pepe is out and Coentrao is out too.

Update: Matt Besler is fine,Jozy is listed as "Day to Day" Their calling the injury a strained hamstring. Dempsey with nasal fracture and should be good to go mask or no mask.
