I have 4 kittens, 2 boys and 2 girls. They are looking for a loving home! If you want pictures you can email me or message me on here. karinamartinez95@yahoo.com

With all due respect, the kittens aren't looking for a home, the person who didn't get the momma cat spayed to prevent kittens to begin with is!

Notice I did say "person" not you.. And here's hoping the person finds good homes for them and gets momma cat spayed!

:))

very nicely stated, kayry

They were rescue kittens...? And I don't need a lesson about having kittens spayed.

What kind of background checks will you run on the families willing to adopt?

a4890008uu --- 10 years ago -

I would just want to meet you and a few questions, nothing major! (:

When you post something here, it's public and subject to everyone making all kinds of comments, suggestions unwanted advice etc!

It can be a great tool..

First of all, it is great that you rescue kittens. That would have been helpful information to share in your original post. People like to know as much background as possible when getting a pet.

Of course, people like to say they "rescued" on here all the time to avoid being called out on being an irresponsible pet owner. I am sure you would not be one of those folks. I do hope you are able to find them happy homes. It would be very responsible if rescuers like yourself would go to a low cost spay and neuter center before re-homing them to insure they do not go to homes where the cycle of unwanted animals goes on and on. (I think 8 weeks is the usual time , but I have also heard that sometimes as early as 6 weeks)

But to get your skirt all ruffled because someone (in a very nice way, in fact) pointed out that somewhere along the line someone did not care to prevent the orphan issue in the first place is too bad, IMO.

You post on a forum anywhere and you will get opinions. That is the point of message boards. If you are too sensitive for that, then just post on Craigslist or something.

*LOL* very well said!

The people who I know who truly rescue kittens/cats, have them fully vetted prior to adoption OR require a spay/neuter deposit if said kitten is too young for surgery. If you're a Good Samaritan who took these little lives in, there are many legit low cost spay/neuter clinics to help you with them!

Texas Litter Control

They do both wellness visits for kittens/cats/puppys/dogs and spay, neuter, and chipping for low costs. Worth the drive, and you can make an appt online. If you start working with a rescue agency here local, all will have to be tested for FK/FIV before they will assist. Volunteers for Animal Protection is a great agency, strict rules for the adoption process. They are on the internet or FB. Hope they all find good homes, seems like it has just rained kittens this year. Thank you for taking them in.
