Yeah and the other 15 competitors still can get them no problem.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 10 years ago -

a question- a couple of my double windows leaked and got water on the inside- no way to clean them- how much would it cost (from you and your 15 competitors) to replace them?

Home Screen Services --- 10 years ago -

I am not sure exactly what you are requesting. We do solar screens not window replacement.

Home Screen Services --- 10 years ago -

thank you for your input *... I can't speak for the other "15 competitors". however since you were kind enough to leave a comment I guess my reply will be.... not at $33 per window!

thank you for replying!

Do the screens snap into existing Simonton window frame tracks?

Windowsworld.com for fixing the windows.
I had them replace all 48 windows on my home and highly recommend them.

My original aluminum frame storm windows cannot compare to the new ones. Power bill was dramatically reduced, and the house was noticeably quieter and far more comfortable in terms of temperature variants. Kevin may not remember but he did the screens on my house and he does do a good job. New windows however made ALL the difference in the world!

I concur! I've had all of my windows replaced now and it has made all the difference in the world. I can now open blinds and curtains without being overwhelmed with the outside temps and it cuts down on the amount of dust that is sucked into the house from old windows.

The solar screens may help but if you want to do it right, replace your windows.

I used to Install Vinyl Insulated replacement windows. I agree that they do insulate. However not everyone has $400 to $1000 per window in their budget! I also have proven test results that 90% Phifer Suntex Screens perform better at blocking out direct sunlight heat than most of the replacement windows available with the exception of TRIPLE PANE with Low-E366 glass at an average cost well above $1000 per window. So, while Solar Screens DO NOT INSULATE.. They do what they are supposed to do which is block out heat from the Sun and provide Privacy which is a benefit that replacement windows do not offer on the front of the home and at an average of less than 10% the cost of replacement windows... Apples and Watermelon comparison!

I don't have $18K to replace all my windows. I have to say the windows covered by Kevin's solar screens on the West side of the house has made a huge difference this summer. However, we upgraded to 90% and 80% blocking screens and paid more than the $33 type.

8675309 (side note love the screen name)- how was the service? We live in older home, the 1st replacement window quote we received i almost passed out. Getting Solar Screens for now seems like a good option till we can afford the large cost of replacment windows.

It is a good idea and that is what I did. Then started the window replacement with doing several each year - over a 3yr period of time. That kinda' cut down on the sticker shock.

Gigix4, that was my plan. Start small with solar screens then replace a few windows a year. I dont mind a work in progress on the windows.

Gigix4 --- 10 years ago -

Good plan ACHS, at least it worked for me. And, don't ever believe Window World's ad for $189 a window or whatever it is! I love their windows but the actual price ended up more like $750 each when it was all said and done.

ACHS, You up will find Kevin to be prompt, honest, and knows his stuff. He did not pressure me into upgrading or covering more windows than I wanted , but rather he showed me all my options and was familiar with what is usually done. He helped me make my decision on what would work best and what I could afford. Oh, and he is a nice guy, too. You up can see his work at his web site. There are a few cosmetic decisions and choices to make.
