Enjoying some Just Right Salsa (I spice it up with some Salsa Verde) while watching the Masters. Went to see Bill today and picked up some jalapeƱo plants, some really nice red tomatoes, and a couple of different jams. He even gave me a free tomato plant. Willmon Farms is worth the 20 minute drive to East River Drive in Splendora.

Not competitive with other business. As in costs more for similar products.
As in way more than

Canino Produce Co. Houston's Farmers Market
www.caninoproduce.com/

But hey, if folks want to pay, you can charge 10 dollars for a tomato if you want. Hope this answers your question.

I choses Canino's as you well know they have been around since the 50's and have produce as fresh as anyones anywhere in Houston. Definitely worth the drive. AND yes I have bought from Willman Farms, and the quality is good and the selection limited but still good. Caninos is like a very large Walmart of produce and a wonderful experience of shopping and seeing all the different items. Well worth the drive. I have also found that the Fiesta on 59 has very VERY good pricing and a good produce selection. And its fresh as well. I just prefer going over to Airline. Dont care for the drive.

Ok so the difference between shopping at Willmam Farms and Fiesta or Canino's is...Willman Farms is LOCAL PRODUCE and it is limited due to what is in season.

The produce from Canino's & Fiesta come from Mexico, so you are not supporting your local farmer or country for that matter by buying from those places.

But if supporting your local farmer is not important to you...keep on shopping elsewhere.

I prefer the Veggie Lady, but Willmons is good, too! Veggie Lady is opening a store that will even have organic meat, so I can't wait!
