That was horrible. We had 4.5 feet of water in our home in Roman Forest. :/ 

I was the last southbound car allowed to cross the bridge connecting KW to Atascocita. I could see the barricades being placed at the entrance in my rear view mirror.....

I was staying at Crystal Beach that week getting ready for our annual family reunion. I didn't rain a drop there. It wasn't until I left to drive to Hobby Airport to pick up DH's aunt that I realized there was a problem. The Gulf freeway was fine and there was no rain until I passed Nasa 1 intersection. When I exited the freeway to get to Hobby the water was over the curbs. To make matters worse I had decided to drive my mom's Cadillac instead of my truck because I though it would be more comfortable for the aunt because she was elderly. Fortunately I made it to the airport okay and had to rush the aunt out past the souvenier shops because she wanted to dawdle along and shop. I didn't want to scare her but I knew we had to get out of there quick. It wasn't until we got back to the beach that I heard how bad the flooding was. Back then we didn't have cable TV and had no local TV reception at the beach. DH has to go out to 2 medical appointments today and I've threatened him with bodily harm if he tries to drive through water.
