All prices are just for labor to paint on the walls and ceilings.

We have a $300.00 minimum per job.

Customer is responsible for purchasing the paint at Sherwin Williams using our account and receiving our discount. We will give you an idea of how much paint to purchase for your job. We also require you to purchase a roll of tape per two rooms.

Customer must remove all valuables from the room, anything breakable, especially non replaceable items we will not handle.

Customer is responsible for removing all pictures from off of the wall and putting them back on the wall or we can do both for a small price per picture.

Customer is responsible for disconnecting and reconnecting all electronics and computer systems.

Customer is responsible for moving all furniture or we can move furniture for a small price per each piece.

On small items of furniture that take only a minute to move we may not charge anything, but for larger or heavy furniture there will be an additional charge based on exactly how big and how much time and effort it takes to move and set back in place.

Sheetrock repairs are additional and need to be completed prior to painting. We can quote you a price but generally the cost will be around $75.00 for small patches (6" x 6") which involve patching, floating, texturing and priming the damaged area. Larger patches 24" x 24" on up will be a minimum of $100.00 on up. The more sheetrock repairs you have the more we will work with you on combined pricing for all patches.

*Note: Requires the purchase of 1-gallon of paint which will go a long way in painting a lot of trim work in your home.

Crud- no wonder I DImyself! Does that include taking off all switch covers and painting base boards? Who the heck paints a room without doing the ceiling?? Who the heck doesn't empty a rom they are painting???

sheddy --- 7 years ago -

Dang, I should go into business. I have painted every room at least a couple of times. The day before I paint I prep the room, move furniture to the center of the room, clean baseboards, remove electrical covers, tape off anything I don't want painted. The next morning I get my music going and paint. Prep is the secret. I enjoy it once the prep is done.I think Sherwin Williams paint is way over rated.

Who the heck paints a room without doing the ceiling??

Typically ceilings are never painted because they are not messed up like the walls, most ceilings are white and stay white, walls change color ceilings don't.

The Odd Job Specialist --- 7 years ago -

Trying to save customers money. Many customers can't or don't have the time to paint for themselves.

Please don't put down someone for doing their best to earn a living. We complete work for those people who can't do things for themselves, we normally work for customers that earn way more money than most and don't feel the need to save $150.00 painting a room for themselves when they can make $500.00 plus per day at their job or business. Give us a break. Thanks

Well you live in the good ole USA, and for the time being we are a free country, hurry and start your painting business before the liberals take our freedom away. Lol!

Give the Lord thanks that you are able to paint your own home, many people aren't able and some make too much money to bother with it. Be kind to those of us who take care of those that can't and make too much money to bother with painting for themselves. We provide a service that makes people happy and feel good about their home. God Bless

I'm lucky, I haven't had to work since shortly after getting married. I also was raised not to pay for something I can do myself. Having said that, I have have paid to have the outside of houses painted quite a few times. Also, I learned many years ago that if you aren't able to do something the cost of having something done doesn't seem too high. It is only when you can do something yourself that the price seems outrageous. This is America and I believe with hard work you can do anything for a living and end up a millionaire. I hope you find plenty of customers.

Thanks for the reply, I surely wish I could get to that millionaire status, boy that would be nice. Thanks for the kind reply.

I'm with Sheddy. My intent certainly was not to put you down or deny you an income. I do hope you get many customers. I guess my comments are speaking to a whole generation of people who can't ( or won't) do it themselves. Somehow my Dad managed to work 60 hours a week and do the yard work, auto care, painting and other house repair. He gave me a strong work ethic. When we got our first house I didn't know how to do many things- hubby and I taught ourselves. I knew how to paint ( lol my Dad taught me that- his Dad painted for a living). So I've always painted. And Hubby and I have always done our own projects- from tiling, wood floors to complete bathroom remodels. So Sheddy is right- those of us who can are amazed at prices people pay to have it done. We spent $8,000 on a bathroom remodel- if we had paid to have it done it would've cost $30,000. No it wasn't fun having the bathroom ripped up for 5 months BUT it was worth saving 22,000!! It is a shame that more people don't try a DIY project- they're not that difficult- and with research and sometimes even YouTube -it can be done. The sense of accomplishment is amazing
I do respect the work that you and others do- because I do it and it's not an easy career. I do love painting though- it's so zen for me-lol so is mowing the yard. Good luck!!

Thanks Sheddy and I agree with you completely! I know the feeling of accomplishment, not so much for a paint job but for some projects we have completed, like we recently built three Pergolas in the woodlands along with an ultra modern office shelving that we are still aweing about, I love it when a customer gives me a photo off of Houzz.com and it's totally different than anything I have ever done or seen and they say can you do this and I always say "Yes" and my God Given ability to figure things out kicks in and it isn't too long before what we have in a photo is now in their home. We finish one tomorrow and I can't wait to take after photo's.

Thanks again

I'll admit, I am one of those people who hate to paint and hire out! We've painted several times but I do NOT do a good job. LOL So I appreciate people like you Odd Job Specialist who can make my house look pretty.
We have done many DIY projects over the years, including a complete kitchen remodel and building a deck but hubby and I are tired now and just don't have the desire to do it ourselves anymore.... getting old!

TinktheSprite --- 7 years ago -

DH and I were big DIY-ers. I knew one day we would have to hire people to do the things we normally do ourselves. That day is here. For some things, at least. I can still paint a room or two but the big jobs, nope. Not any more. The same holds true for other work around the house and yard. It's just getting harder and harder to get things done. I appreciate that there are good people out there who offer good work and services when I need it.

a4947438uu --- 7 years ago -

The problem with your prices are they are high! Most painters apply 2 coats to start with and supply the paint. Good luck!

For a quality job and we speak english and are trustworthy, we don't rush the job, we take our time and make sure the paint job is applied properly, watch those people that charge very little, see how fast they do the job and how little paint is applied. You get what you pay for!

Blow Joe --- 7 years ago -

This is why you hire a painter BY THE HOUR, and you can still get a good job, the painter gets a decent pay.

Butch --- 7 years ago -

How much time would it take a professional painter to paint a 10 x 10 room one coat?

TinktheSprite --- 7 years ago -

No need to justify your prices. People know how to shop around for estimates. But you are right Odd Job Man, you get what you pay for with paint, quality of paint,it's application and types of tools used.

I found someone who will hand-paint not spray on paint on our exterior. He charges by the hour but it will be well worth it in the end compared to that watered-down paint that was sprayed on our house 4 years ago.
