My bill went up in November and the bill I received today has yet another increase. I have basic cable only. It's ridiculous.

Suddenlink stinks!

I guess TV goes up but not internet? I have internet only and my bill has been the same for almost 3 years. or maybe I was paying too much in the beginning so they have not raised it yet?

I noticed that too. Ours went up $8.00. Just seems like it creeps up every month.

Everyone is going up. I have Uverse and Dish. One went up last month and Dish is going up next month. It wouldn't be so bad, if there was ever anything on worth watching.

I'll try to make this simple but when it involves the Federal Government, it's never simple. Having spent the better part of 40 yrs in a service provider company, I can tell you that these companies are governed by rules and regulations set by the government.

Each year, service provider companies can file with the federal government for rate increases to be passed on to customers/consumers. In the case of Suddenlink, that would be with the Federal Communication Commission. In order to be granted a rate increase, the requesting company has to provide documentation that substantiates the request. These records are open to all the customers (but good luck getting to those records). Those requests will include things like the cost of salaries, cost of material and equipment to maintain or repair existing facilities/equipment and/or upgrades to existing facilities - all the costs related to operating expenses.

It's a vicious circle - we all would like a raise so companies have to accommodate by raising prices - that's not only to the Suddenlink employees for salaries and training, but also the companies that Suddenlink purchases their equipment and services from.

I hope this has some vision into the rate increase, but it is ... what it is.

^ Good insight.

I would also say the Television companies (whether it be dish or cable) are losing ground to growing trend of cord cutting in favor of online TV sources such as Netflix or Hulu. They have to make up for those loses somehow. Unfortunately for us they are doing it by passing the loss to the consumers.
