It's been hot for 6 weeks, hitting 100 or dancing dangerously close to it since July. I am happy they finally officially call it "heat". It is August, right?

Stay cool, my friends.

And water ... water ... water ... your lawns. Burned lawns are looking terrible.

I hate this heat.

I have a lot of work to do getting the house ready for move. Yard work and garage stuff.

I can get about 15 minutes outside and then I can't take it. I'm just not designed for this climate.

The longer I am in it, the more acclimated to the heat I am. I am not pretty about it, sweating from head to toe. If I stay indoors all day, away from the heat, I can't take it even to walk to the mailbox. I pick up mail by car more in the summer.

no one is designed for this climate- I have to wonder how people did it without air conditioning- I know they used lots of fans, but OMG-

TinktheSprite --- 5 years ago -

Long ago the climate was not as it is today. There was more land, less cement that radiates heat. Early writings described Galveston Bay as frozen over in the winter. I'm sure the summers were much their mud huts. Lol
