City of Houston water said their GPS did not read my meter for two months so I got a $670. water bill this week. Another neighbor $500. I have no automatic sprinkler system and no visible leaks. Anyone else with this problem? Of course customer service was NOT helpful. So I have written an appeal letter but had to pay bill so they won't shut off water. 

I have heard of that happening from time to time. Seems they were catching up on what you owed them from previous months. It's a bad way to do business IMO. What were your water bills for the previous 2 months? Were the unusually low?
