My 4yr pup dog has been on slow kill for heartworms for at least 2 years now. He is still positive for HW and the vet wants to do the 3 injection treatment to rid him once and for all of the worms. Has anyone had their dog go through this treatment? Did your dog fare well and was he cured? What were any bad side effects? I am just hesitant since I have always heard the injection treatment is always hard on the animals. But I just want my pup to have the best quality of life and living with HW doesn't seem to be the answer. Eventually they will get the best of him, even on preventative...Any info will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
