[b]Last week my mother was diagnosed with ALS. It was our second opinion, so needless to say our family is completely shocked and at a loss of words.

I have extensively researched the topic and it appears that there are several ways to delay the inevitable. Most are by the way of injections or intravenous route.

What I am asking of you fellow Kingwoodians is if ANY of you know any homecare nurses, or anyone that is capable of doing these types of procedures.

I'm so sorry. the shock of the news must be very hard on your family. If you can speak to your doctor about inserting a PICC line, you can administer and IV infusion yourself. (I just completed 6 weeks of IV therapy with my hubby) DH's Home Care nurse is the BEST. Her name is Hope with Ultimate Therapy Home Health Care Services. But you really should talk to her doctor about it. He can order home healthcare as well that could be covered by insurance. Best wishes to your mom and your family.
