Even good businesses get bad reviews sometimes. Some people are unreasonable. You can't please all of the people all of the time. But you can get a consensus maybe by reading the complaints and see if there's a pattern. A legit business will try and do their best to rectify things if they dropped the ball.
I stopped working for Stan almost 2 years ago because...Does not pay his subcontractors - trust me on this one. Writes bad checks. However - he has a new partner C.A. Stanzil construction who is swearing to us we will get paid. Chris I trust - Stan I do not. They have one shot. Work is pretty awesome though. So, if you want to risk having your property liened because he did not pay a subcontractor - feel free to use him. Personally, for this guy - I would follow EVERY step in the how to hire a contractor AND make sure I held a 10% retainer for 60 days with all sub (know who they are) having signed a release of lien.
