I just got a statement from one of my credit card accounts and found a fraudulent charge of $83+ from a Murphy's - Walmart in Humble for gasoline on it on Nov.1. Not mine since my little truck only holds 17 gal. The credit card company has been called and they are removing it but advice: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE watch your accounts carefully.
I only use a Discover credit card and can make any amount purchase, and by the time I walk out of the store, I get a text about it. If it wasn't me, I just have to text "Stop". Same goes if I do an online purchase with it.
CavemanBarney, Discover has now cancelled my previous account number and set my my alert at "0" so I should get an alert on any activity on the old account number and the new as well. Thankfully, Discover has been so helpful. I intend to be more vigilant about the activity. I hate thieves. And they are more active during the holiday season.
We got new credit cards each and activated them. DH's credit card was used twice before he had a chance to use it! Visa cancelled it before we knew it. "Tis the Season. Oh, wait. It's always THAT season! groaning
