My mom just passed a wreck on Northpark exit. She says looks like the driver and passenger are dead. A little yellow car. Praying for these families who are about to have their world come crashing down.

QueenCassie --- 3 years ago -

I passed that wreck as well, the little yellow car looked to be wrapped around a tree, drivers side.. saying a prayer for everyone involved

lindagail --- 3 years ago -

A one car accident? How terribly sad! Prayers for those families involved.

Jen --- 3 years ago -

Mercy! How terrible! Prayers for their families!

SuperFantastic --- 3 years ago -

whats sad is that as you pass the accident, which I did about 15min ago the body was not completely covered and you could see it as you passed by. They should of done a better job at covering or blocking it with the firetruck

Crzyfish --- 3 years ago -

Houston Transtar said two cars. At about 10:41, so they may have had the other car gone already. My mom only saw one.

There were two cars involved, but one fled the scene.

*OH SNAP* --- 3 years ago -

Ugh! Why do people do that????

thinking... --- 3 years ago -

There were two cars involved, but one fled the scene.  Wow! wth is wrong w/people?

txdaddy --- 3 years ago -

wow. so very sad. prayers to the families and first responders as it can't be easy to have to see that kind of stuff.

Crzyfish --- 3 years ago -

I agree txdaddy, first responders need prayers too. My mom's still shaken up. She saw the person and some blood.

voice of reason --- 3 years ago -

Ugh! Why do people do that???? why specifically? because they are wanted for another crime. why generally? because they only care about themselves.

Crzyfish --- 3 years ago -

The illegal immigrant that hit my husband who was helping at an accident scene was trying to squeeze through accident. He was afraid he would get in trouble for being illegal. The sad thing is that the cops don't do anything about them anymore, so he would have gotten in no trouble.

Setta --- 3 years ago -

A friend just called a wrecker and they said it was one person in the car and she was pregnant. not sure how accurate that is but, it is all very sad. Prayers for all involved

napoleon --- 3 years ago -

What intersection did this happen at?

JusticeForAll --- 3 years ago -

I'm so sorry your Mom was one of the first on the scene...how horrible for her...she'll never forget that imagery. I'm so sorry for the families who have received the worst news possible... :( and I hope they're able to identify the other car involved for the family's sake.

tiggersmom --- 3 years ago -

Update-My sis came up on this accident, she is a family friend. She was there for a while this morning. No one else was in the car. They are having trouble locating family. Please pray for all of the family and for my sis. She is having a hard time seeing her friend like this. You do not expect to see this when you go out to run an errand.

Heather --- 3 years ago -

I was one of the witnesses that had to fill out a report and speak with the police and fatality unit. I can tell you exactly what happened... I was leaving the college from my first class and as I went under the underpass at Kingwood Dr. a maroon truck passed me up at a high speed. Once we got on the feeder he continued speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. When we were close to where Los Cucos is at the driver of the maroon truck tried passing the victim and I guess in order to try to get out of his way she jerked her steering wheel the opposite way which caused her to jump the curb and spin around to where the driver side door dang near wrapped around a tree. As soon as I saw this happen the truck fled the scene and another witness and I parked and ran over to the little yellow car to see if everything was okay. We believe that she died on impact. She was bleeding from her nose, mouth, and ears. Definitely a sight that I will never forget. We also believed that she could have been pregnant. We know for a fact that she has a younger daughter because there was a pink flower covered booster seat in the back seat but luckily the child wasn't in the vehicle. The other witness and I stayed on the scene for about 45 minutes or an hour and filled out all of the incident reports then we were told we had to leave. I'm praying for the entire family and I couldn't imagine having to hear the news of what happened. It tore me up inside just seeing the whole thing happen. The woman was in her mid to late 20's driving a little yellow toyota yaris or possibly a chevy aveo. It was a smaller car but I didn't even think to look at what kind it was. If anyone has any information on the driver who fled the scene please inform me so I can call the police station back. It was a newer model maroon 4 door truck with a big sticker on the back windshield. Please if anyone has any information let me know! Keep this woman's family and poor babygirl in your prayers! God Bless!

OMG, this is so incredibly sad.

Unichic™ --- 3 years ago -

OMG, this is so sad. I hope that sorry POS is picked up, tossed into jail and is filled with angst for the rest of his/her life. How could you leave the scene of something like that???

txdaddy --- 3 years ago -

I hope that sorry POS is picked up, tossed into jail and is filled with angst for the rest of his/her life. i was with ya until "filled with angst". screw that, he needs to be filled with bubba's for years to come.

ARCHERITE --- 3 years ago -

Why does no one ever think to actually FOLLOW the driver fleeing from the scene?!? All you have to do is follow long enough to get a license plate, vehicle make, and possibly a good look at the driver. I know it's human nature to try and help those possibly injured in a crash, but in reality, once a car has crashed there's not much you can do except call 911. If You have no medical training, you should never try and help an injured person in a vehicle as you could further the injury, so there is really no point in stopping to help unless you are a witness, or if only one vehicle was involved. And said witness, as soon as they saw the crash, should have called 911, then followed the other car to try and get more information, then return to the scene to report it to the police. This driver got away because no one thought to act, just react. Prayers to this person and thier family. We need to find this Driver!

txdaddy --- 3 years ago -

Archerite...COMPLETELY wrong. the law says you must stop and render aid. i doubt the driver was going the speed limit while trying to get away, so your idea is to have two or three cars speeding down the road trying to get a plate number. not to mention if they see the person "following" there could be another person put in harm's way.

alreadygone~~ --- 3 years ago -

Well txdaddy.... ARCHERITE...profile = 16 days... need I say more?

Brittany's Mom --- 3 years ago -

Well according to the newspaper report is appears that the two were going into the same lane? And she over corrected. If he was really driving fast he might not have even noticed she lost control. Just saying we don't all know the facts. We are all guilty of speeding and if he was in a truck and she was in a small car he might not have even seen her. We never know. I am not defending him/her just saying we don't all know the whole story. And we should not throw stones until we do.

ExLady In Blue --- 3 years ago -

You never know how you might help at an accident scene. Even if you are there to hear the person say, "Tell _____ that I love them" in their dying breath, at least it's something, and sometimes good old common sense comes into play, i.e. stop the flow of blood, remove the party from the vehicle before it catches fire, etc. Very sad to hear this happened and I hope they catch the driver. Maybe they can find a business in the area with security cameras, or maybe they ran a red light in the area that is photo enforced.

cwangel --- 3 years ago -

couldbetrue --- 3 years ago -

This driver got away because no one thought to act, just react. Didn't see your post ELIB until I posted. Great minds..huh? Do you know how many injured people are grateful for the comforting voice of a stranger until the paramedics arrive? In some cases those people have been able to tell loved ones that their family member said they loved them before passing. In others, the reassurance ans hope is enough to keep them alive. The police do not advocate following a fleeing vehicle. If he was crazy enough to drive out of control he could also be armed. Hopefully one of US 59 cameras caught him. People forget they are on camera. I think it's important to train ourselves to look for the plate. But, not to pursue anyone.

Mom's Taxi Service --- 3 years ago -

I understand what you're saying Brittany's Mom...the whole story definitely isn't out - but the fact that he/she was witnessed speeding and cutting in and out of traffic prior to the accident is not good. Reckless driving causes accidents. Prayers for that young woman's family!

Chris --- 3 years ago -

I drive a small car and people with trucks usually drive like azzholes!! This story just pisses me off! I hope they track down the guy and cut off his balls and throw him in prison! He knows what he did! F*ing coward!

*OH SNAP* --- 3 years ago -

Well according to the newspaper report is appears that the two were going into the same lane? And she over corrected. If he was really driving fast he might not have even noticed she lost control. My best friend and I got into an accident exactly like this one in high school. We were driving back to work after lunch and my friend started to change lanes when she noticed this truck going REALLY fast in the lane she wanted to change to. She panicked a little and over-corrected. She completely lost control of the car, and we ended up getting hit on all 4 sides. It only takes a second. Incidentally, the driver of the truck did stop and ended up getting an earful from a guy who pulled over just to chew him out for the way he'd been driving. He made him stay on the scene until the police got there but, unfortunately, the police said they had to let him go because he wasn't technically part of the accident.
