Special recycling collection, display event March 26

Do you have leftover latex paint taking up space in your garage? Is there antifreeze or used motor oil stored there cluttering your shelves? How about large appliances, batteries and electronic items that need to be moved out and recycled? Well, now is the time to start that spring cleaning.

Mark the date Saturday, March 26, on your calendar for an easy opportunity to recycle all of these items at the Kingwood Metro Park and Ride lot. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you will be able to drop off any and all of these items, entering the Park and Ride lot from the Lake Houston Parkway entrance.

Just bought $9.99 worth of kitty litter for the paint. Guess I will be returning it.

What do you do with the kitty litter & paint?

Cookin' Queen --- 14 years ago -

Put it in the can with the paint to dry it up so that the trash guys will take it.

Thanks for the info planemom...:)

Wow. Good to know, in case I can't make it on the 26th.

Does it have to be the clumping kitty litter, or do you use the old-fashioned kind?

Iluvdzny --- 14 years ago -

So if the paint is all dried up you can throw it out with your normal trash?

Nightstorm --- 14 years ago -

Thanks so much for posting this. I am ready and there.

I thought you could but it would probably be better to bring it to the haz waste recycle.

Be prepared to show proof of residency; a drivers lisence or utility bill will work. It's for Kingwood residents. At least that is what my friend just emailed me.

So, this is by zip code?
