Hi everyone! I found this very sweet female 1/2 Pitt mix roaming in my neighborhood. She evaded 3 dog catchers and several neighbors attempts to capture her but chose me as someone she is comfortable with. Yesterday I attepted to take her to 3 different shelters that won't put down Pitt's but the 1st two are maxed out on LG breeds and the last one, BARC, only takes Houston area dogs not Harris County (they check your ID). My sister said she can go with me Wednesday 4/30 to take her back to BARC but I'd rather she find a loving home to stay at temporarily or permanently. I can't keep her myself. Husband hates dogs and I am never home. I am a school teacher and run 2 businesses. It wouldn't be fair to her. She has abandonment issues and really needs someone who would love on her and let her cuddle in your lap. She would make an extremely loyal companion.
Can you or do you know someone that can help? Please call me 281-889-6133
*Frustrating I can't get a picture to load up on here but if you text me I will send you a picture.

You should have told BARC you are an illegal. They would have no problem with your ID then since they do not need them at all.

I wish we could help though.

Forgive my judgmental comment here, but how awful that your husband hates dogs! To hate something innocent and helpless speaks a lot of ones character!

Again sorry for my judgement....I hope you can find a suitable option for her!

LOL...there you go again...caring more about animals than humans...

Hayley --- 11 years ago -

all creatures great and small? I
I was taught " All creatures great and small". Remember that hymn, John Lynch

All things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all

I do my ow many rescue organizations will work with you extensively if you're willing to foster! Try contacting Best Friends animal shelter in The Heights...

In the mean time, thank you for trying!

FabFive --- 11 years ago -

Just because you don't like an animal doesn't speak about character. That's ridiculous.

FabFive --- 11 years ago -

If she had said my husband hates dogs and intentionally tries to run over them in his car and enjoys watching them dog fight like Michael Vick, ok that's bad. But to not want to take a Pit Bull into his house knowing full well he'd have to give it all the care be cause his wife is always gone?? There's nothing in the world wrong with that. If my husband brought home a snake and asked me to care for it I'd be out so fast. That innocent animal no matter how big or small is not coming in my house.

Kayry --- 11 years ago -

She didn't say husband doesn't like, she said husband hates.

And I understand not everyone is bonkers over animals like I am, but hate is a strong emotion!

FabFive --- 11 years ago -

People overuse the term hate all the time.

Regardless, I still can't believe you would say "forgive my judgmental comment" then go on to judge someone's character that you've never met.

Just FYI, this is why so many people "hate" rescue organizations. Say whatever you want, but I hear it all the time.

Polly Ester --- 11 years ago -

To hate something innocent and helpless speaks a lot of ones character!

Good grief. She is doing everything in her power to find a suitable situation for the dog that wasn't her responsibility in the first place and you put her husband's character in question. I hear people say they hate cats all the time and even though I am crazy about my cat, I understand not everyone wants one. As long as someone isn't mistreating animals, their feelings about them doesn't say anything about their character.

MissPris --- 11 years ago -

Judging someone's character based on one word written by some one else on the internet really speaks of one's character.

Gee-Wilikers! That was fun!

PS. I hope you are able to find someone to take the dog soon.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

I'd read your own posts, before you "add comments"- you're doing a whole lot of judging, too-

Eliza2 --- 11 years ago -

Try Scout's Honor or a pit bull rescue group

gunsnroses --- 11 years ago -

You have no history on this dog. Turn itnto the pound; don't foster it off on innocent people.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

wow- that was predictable! I wondered where you were!

Kayry --- 11 years ago -

Mila any updates!? :)

MilagrosFineArt --- 11 years ago -

Lol...okay maybe I may have used the word hate too hastily. He dislikes a lot is better. He does love the cats we have rescued though. He got bit severely on his head as a child and was dragged around by the dog, he still has the scars on his scalp. He doesn't kick dogs awsy or anything just doesnt call them over to dote on them. If they come over to him he will pet the dog but is still indifferent to them.

MilagrosFineArt --- 11 years ago -

Update on the dog: I have several friends that are helping me reach out to numerous rescue organizations and to their friends and family. One friend said that her friend maybe interested in taking her in and she will let her know later today.

FabFive --- 11 years ago -

Now you know why he doesn't want to care full time for a pit bull.

Kayry --- 11 years ago -

Oh that's wonderful Mila, so glad it's working out! Please cont with the updates..

JohnLynch --- 11 years ago -

I was taught " All creatures great and small". Remember that hymn, John Lynch

yep..."The Lord God made them all." but that doesn't mean that you should value animals more than humans. God made rocks too. Do they have more value than humans?

fyi...the "All things wise and wonderful" isn't a reference to animals...animals can't be wise...

btw...the hymn isn't a quote from the Bible...

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

MCFA, that's great news- the poor thing already has abandonment issues- I'm so glad you didn't just throw her away-

MissPris --- 11 years ago -

How can she throw away something that was never hers? The dog isn't her responsibility. Someone else threw the dog away. She is trying to make sure the dog doesn't die because of that but in no way are her and her husband responsible for this dog that isn't theirs and they don't want. She is going out of her way to do something kind and in return gets a whole lot of 'tude.

And for what?

Dorothy Parker --- 11 years ago -

Rehoming a skittish pit mix without the help of a rescue group who can evaluate this dog's temperment, is a bad idea.

Please do not rehome or foster out to a family with children or a home with other pets.

Kayry --- 11 years ago -

It's my understanding that most breed specific rescue groups will properly and thoroughly train with very specialized training to ensure proper family placement.

Mila have you tried contacting Guardian Pitbull Rescue?
