I am looking for opinions on clean salons that clearly use sanitized equipment. My former salon used a rusty scraper that I did not notice until after she was done and it totally grossed me out. In reading some older post, supposedly Cindy's Nails you can buy your own equipment box. Does anyone know if this is still the case? Or recommendations on any others, Thanks!!

Spa and Nail of America by the new Kroger is very nice.

Stay away from Ocean Nails. It's dirty, and their customer service skills are lacking.

I have walked in and out of more nail salons than not, so this is a great thread topic.

I'm honestly surprised by how many paying customers do not notice salon sterilization! I mean we shouldn't have to, they have been through state inspections, but still.

You have to really look at the autoclave bag they pull things from. If it isn't sealed, wet looking with the indicator completely brown it isn't sterilized. The hard pray is asking to see the equipment and complaining when they pretend the don't speak much English.

Just tried Le Tique for this first time. Was clean and they did a great job!

Did you get a mani/pedi? I ask because I'm curious if you saw how they cleaned the pedicure basin out?

: )

No just a pedicure and shamefully can't really say I notice. I walk to the front to the drying machine and don't really pay attention. I will now! Hard to believe with my germ-a-phobe self. I'm usually in such a rush .

This place is new & gets rave reviews:

Kingwood Nails & Spa - it is at KW Dr and WLHP near Randall's.
This salon is very nice! I went there today to see if they had time for a pedicure. They do use plastic liners which is great! I am really picky and was pleasantly surprised with my service. I felt like they really went above and beyond to make sure that I enjoyed my experience. They offered wine, water, and sodas. I had one glass of wine and they even offered me another. It was extremely nice that all of the nail technicians spoke English....even between each other. Hands down the best mani and pedi that I have had in a very long time. They really set the bar high. Also they use files only once.

Tipsy Nails is by the Ace Hardware Store, they are great, clean, I only go there, see Tracy she is great!

I just went to the new place by Randalls on WLHP. It is new, clean, instruments in separate bags which they give you. AND they speak English!!!!

I went to Kingwood Nails & Spa on Monday and WOW! It was awesome. I've had many pedicures before but this was by far the best and most relaxing. The girl that did mine was named Jenny. They do use all clean stuff and give you the file and buffer when done. I can't wait to go back!
