I don't think Nixon knew about Watergate until after it happened. You can probably say the same about Obama.

But, since investigators recovered the hard drives (the I.R.S. claimed had been destroyed), we may soon find out.

I suspect that will be coming up, especially leading up to the 2016 race. Recently released through the Freedom of Information Act are numerous redacted emails showing that Clinton's highest advisers were told within hours of the attack that it was definitely an orchestrated attack by militants. She will have some elastic explaining to do to justify the "protest gone awry" story line.

Benghazi will definitely come up in the election, but a major issue will be all these political donations Clinton is accepting from foreign countries.

Bingo. Donations she accepted while Secretary of State AND continues to accept despite warnings from advisers. She's tone deaf when it comes to issues of money.

Since when does the U.S. Secretary of State take donations? 

The Clinton Foundation has accepted millions of dollars from overseas donors. Obviously those donors do or will be expecting something or some favor in return at some point. It's a perceived conflict of interest that won't wear well on the campaign trail.
