You know those flashing yellows on Kingwood Dr right in front of the fire station that say "be prepared to stop"?

Yes, those that I have not seen turn red in the 15 plus years I have been here.

Well they turned red today. Just as I approached them. I had to stop on a dime just as the sirens blared and the lights flashed. Scared the you know what out of me.

The fire truck headed out and turned left on Woodland Hills.

Hope everyone is safe.

That very thing happened to me about a couple of months ago and I was able to stop in the left lane but the idiot beside me in the right lane just kept on trucking and the firetruck almost smacked him when they tried to get onto Kingwood Dr. I guess the driver was texting, on the phone or just absolutely clueless what the RED light meant!

One time I was there five cars rear ended each other in left lane. I was lucky no one hit me

The driver of the fire truck should have to make sure people are stopped befor they pull out. That light is in an odd place. Maybe it should be green all the time and turn yellow to allow the area to clear and then red when everyone should be stopped. Just like at any other intersection.

It is a flashing yellow light that means what, slow down/caution. It turns solid red meaning what, STOP. Why would you want a regular traffic light in an area where there is no need for one. The light turns solid red when the apparatus pull out of the station with there emergency lights on, the drivers stop at the end of the drive way to make sure they can pull out safely. It is not their fault drivers on Kingwood Dr are not paying attention and wreck, put down your phone and learn what traffic signals mean.

What a dumbarse post. Thanks CRM for a reality checker poster needs.

really not a logical post. You drive through there day after day, week after week and nothing happens. All of a sudden it does. It does not matter what color the lights are. It is an emergency. An emergency that can't wait. I hoped very much at the time that they didn't turn down my street.
