Hubby just called on his way home from work and said there's a big fire between KW Drive and Northpark. Anyone know what's up? 

It's Nico's restaurant...just drove by there and it's on fire. 

It is not Nico's...it is A Hair Place. I was right next to it when it started. It is massive and they better worry about the buildings near or they will be gone as well. 

I just got a KHOU Alert that it's a two (2) alarm fire.

Not good ... 

It isn't good...and it took off VERY quick...within minutes. This could end very badly for the businesses around it as well...they are all stacked on top of each other right there. 

Yup it's at A Hair Place but it backs up to Amedeos. They better get it under control... 

Wow that's too bad. Thanks for the info everyone. I hope no one got hurt and the firefighters stay safe. 

It's still burning and there are so many fire trucks and police cars everywhere. I'm praying there were no injuries. I didn't see any ambulances but my son said he saw one drive by. How scary!

I hope they get it contained. My son's scout leader was just talking to us the other day about catastrophe and he said Kingwood's number one threat was wildfire. He's been teaching the boys about survival preparedness. 

It's still burning- just left Lowes. It's directly across 494 from Lowes. It is the building to the right of Amedos - and melted the back wall of Amedos. Some fire trucks have a steady stream of water on Amedos- some are directed to the hair salon and some are directed at the surrounding trees which caught fire. 

Please tell me that Zone D Erotica isn't on fire. 

I followed a shift commander car from 610 up. He passed me and I thought to myself "I hope he does not take 59 North." He did. I thought "oh crap" Traffic was not too bad, but then there were three other fire vehicles and a ladder all lights blazing. I thought "oh hell, there has been a plane crash" Or Deerbrook mall is on fire or such. I went thru FC and saw it was right down the street. I thought of Amadeos. Praying for all involved. 

It looks pretty contained. A lady we talked to said they evacuated Amadeos and that they couldn't get the trees to stop burning. It looks like it's pretty much embers now though, thank God. 

Reeks of arson. 

Did they ever say what caused this fire? 

not yet that I can find. 

I have no idea how valid this information is or how it was obtained, but I believe one of the news stations reported that suspicions were directed toward a faulty air conditioning unit. 

It supposedly was from an A/C unit.
