I have a right to defend myself and my loved ones from criminals and predators. And if a gun facilitates that defense, then yes, I do have the right.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 9 years ago -

Oh no!!! Not the WaPo.

They take precedent over the SCOTUS!!!

Whatever will we do now?!?!?!?!?

fuzz81 --- 9 years ago -

Yes, you do.

Maybe you didn't read the article, or understand the point. You don't have the right to own a machine gun, do you? Or a nuclear warhead on an ICBM. We can, and do restrict what arms are allowed by civilians.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 9 years ago -

Keep reaching, fuzzy.

fuzz81 --- 9 years ago -

Keep being ignorant soupy

Joe Blow --- 9 years ago -

I've had enough of this idiocy for one day. Keep on posting SFB. Knock yourself out. Be sure to get the last word on Every. Single. Thread.

HOHOHO and merry Xmas!

SoupIsGoodFood --- 9 years ago -

Keep Trump humpin', Joey.

Run along.

steinhoister2016 --- 9 years ago -

If you look at life with some objectivity, you really don't have a "right" to anything. Everything is a privilege...

fuzz81 --- 9 years ago -

Exactly.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 9 years ago -

you really don't have a "right" to anything. Everything is a privilege...

If you read the Constitution, we have enumerated rights.

steinhoister2016 --- 9 years ago -

The only rights we have are ones we've made up for ourselves...

OneEyedManRedux --- 9 years ago -

If you look at life with some objectivity, you really don't have a "right" to anything.

You do not seem to understand a fundamental element to the rights enumerated by the Constitution.

Our Founders were quite clear that our rights come not from men but are the NATURAL rights endowed to us by GOD.

steinhoister2016 --- 9 years ago -

LOL^^^^

As far as the title of the thread goes, you do not have an absolute right to a gun...if you commit a felony you lose that right, therefore it's not absolute.

fuzz81 --- 9 years ago -

Nor do the mentally ill, the poor (guns aren't free), or the crippled. You have no right to own a machine gun, or other arms like an ICBM.

mutton --- 9 years ago -

What does being crippled (not my wording) have to do with gun ownership and rights? Where is that...

SoupIsGoodFood --- 9 years ago -

other arms like an ICBM.

Talk about straw men arguments. Sheesh.

fuzz81 --- 9 years ago -

Someone who has no control from their neck down for example, can't operate a gun. It's a bad example, because technically they can own one, it would just be of no use. Their privilege of guns was taken away due their unfortunate disability. Again, "rights" all being a privilege when looked at objectively.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 9 years ago -

Either way.

The 2nd amendment isn't going anywhere.

fuzz81 --- 9 years ago -

It doesn't have to

mutton --- 9 years ago -

So you put your own spin on it Fuzz, got it. DH here is handicap, WITH a chl.

fuzz81 --- 9 years ago -

I definitely didn't mean to offend, mutton. He has as much right to a gun as any.

mutton --- 9 years ago -

I took no offense, am getting used to how ya'll post. Just knew there was no right taken away...lol. As one disabled can often look to be an easy target he got CHL a while back. I go no where without him now, lol.

Igor Stravinsky --- 9 years ago -

Chris Rock had a bit on bullet control. Make each bullet cost $5000. There would be no more aaccidental shootings and if you got shot you probably deserved it.
