Does anyone know why there are so many sirens going? I live in Mills Branch Village off of North Park. Sounds like a bad accident or a house is on fire.

Fire in Woodstream.

I got on just to see if anyone had mentioned it. They've been crazy. I'm in Greentree.

Neighbors detached garage went up in flames. Everyone is safe but shook up obviously

Glad they are safe! I'm in Greentree near Woodstream entrance.

Sirens for an hour.

Anyone know what street in woodstream? I'm in the front & have been watching all the trucks coming in. So glad to know everyone's ok!

KWPlanner --- 7 years ago -

It was on Brook Shore ct

Thanks, KWPlanner

Now the entrance to our street is lined with smoke removal, house boarding, and disaster recovery reps. Guess they're equivalent to tow trucks that race to the scene of car accidents.

My parents live on Fern Garden, which is the street after Brook Shore and their house is right behind the house that caught fire. The firemen are still there walking through the woods behind my parents' fence. My mom said it was the whole house that caught fire. She and my brother heard it start to collapse and then saw it fully collapse after they ran outside after hearing sirens getting closer. KWPlanner did it start in the garage and spread to the house?

KWPlanner --- 7 years ago -

EllieB, your folks likely saw/heard the garage on fire. It did not spread to the house; HFD had the flames out within 20 min of arriving. They were likely walking back in the reserve to make sure none of the embers flew back there & start anything else. Rest assured, the house is still in one piece.

KWPlanner, thanks for clearing that up. Unfortunate about the garage but glad it didn't spread to their house!

I thought you said they heard and saw the house fully collapse. Yes or no?

EllieB123 --- 7 years ago -

Judas, what they thought was the house collapsing was the garage collapsing.
