My orange tree has a massive quanity of blossoms, some near fully bloomed and others on the way. I can't wait. The African iris is also in full bloom.

I planted an avocado tree and clearly, I would never survive if my life depended on keeping plants/trees alive.
Going into the second year...nothing.

I can kill bamboo. Who kills bamboo?!

Lol a88, I thought that stuff usually took over!

Gigix4 --- 9 years ago -

My lime (small Mexican limes- thornless) tree started blooming about a month ago and has more blooms than leaves ... but it goes through what they call "June Fruit Drop" where a lot of the blooms fall off.

The first year, I got 5 limes, last year I got about a dozen. Will be interesting to see the crop this year.

The wife is doing what she does best, down on her hands and knees.

Gardening. BAHAHAHA

Most fruit and citrus trees follow the rule of thumb of every three years. Meaning every third year is the trees best bloom. The first and second year you will still get fruit but the best is every 3 years.

It's supposed to. I can't even keep it alive in a little container.

My husband spent so much time, money and energy on building a green house last year and nothing. NOTHING. No peppers, no scrawburries, no tomatoes, no green beans...just tears.

This is true with my tree. I planted it 9 years ago. It had no fruit the first two years and an over abundance in the third year. 4&5 it had fruit, then another overproduction in 6. 7&8 were OK, and now this is the 9th year.

My wife and I usually have a black thumb, but this year is amazing.

Strawberries are turning red
Radishes from seeds are already sprouting
Tomatoes are forming on 4 plants
Flowers are all looking gorgeous
Herb garden smells amazing

I'm waiting for it to all die now....

Mine would fuzz, just as i was looking to enjoy!

I put in a wifi irrigation controller (scheduled watering based on weather, and can control it all from iPhone) and switching up a bunch of zones to drips and misters for more direct watering.

That sounds neat, let us know how/if works!
