This song came out when my son was born. It always makes me think of him.

Hippiedippiechik --- 12 years ago -

Sweet Jane(Natural Born Killers Soundtrack)-it always reminds me of my group of friends in Junior High and HS.

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol-to this day it will put my daughter to sleep after just one time.

TexasOma --- 12 years ago -

When I'm feeling down and troubled, I love to play The River by Garth Brooks. It reminds me that I can get through whatever the problem.

BellaLaVie --- 12 years ago -

Who you'd be today by Kenny Chesney. Reminds me of someone I was very close to that was murdered in 2005.

Addison Road-What Do I Know of Holy I love this song.

Plumb-In My Arms My Husband really likes this song and has already dedicated it to our baby girl .. She will be born any day now.

George Strait's songs always reminds me of my Dad. .. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 36 from Lupus. He always had his music playing in the living room and I used to dance around on my tippy toes to it

Shana Su --- 12 years ago -

So many of these are great songs.

AngieKaye --- 12 years ago -

Dont take the girl by Tim Mcgraw
and I think its the "Dance" song by Clint black (can't remember)

Both of these remind me of my father... both were even played at his funeral at his request to me.

Work in Progress --- 12 years ago -

Greater things are yet to come. This song was on the radio when I got home after finding out I had miscarried. I was a wreck, but God was speaking to me through that song, and reminding me that He was still there.

Work in Progress --- 12 years ago -

And Leanne womacks "I hope you dance" made me break up with a guy (who was ALL wrong for me) before I met my hubbie :). And I don't even like country. I was flipping through channels and this song came on the radio. I listened to the words and had to pull over because I was crying so hard. I was considering marrying that guy, but that song convicted me that I wouldn't "dance" with him.

Thankfully, we broke up and I was free when the hubbie show up on the scene. Been "dancing" ever since! ;)

Sea Aggie Mom --- 12 years ago -

Yes. My dh always regretted not joining the military when he was young. In 2009 he was offered a contract job in Afghanistan, and saw it as his way of serving our troops and our country. Just because he was a contractor didn't mean he wasn't in danger. He was on military bases during rocket attacks, suicide bombers, etc. I'm very proud of him and his service, supported him 100%, but it was a tough couple of years.

Anyway, last year, when he was still in the middle east, we discussed how hard the seperation had been on both of us (we had only spent maybe 4 weeks together in 2.5 years). After our talk he posted "I'm Going Home" by Dougherty (sp?) on his Facebook page. I had never heard the song before (listen to 60's, 70's and 80's on my I-Pod) and completely broke down. That song expressed everything my dh was feeling, almost like it was written for him, and I still tear up when I listen to it. =)

Gee I'm a sap!! LOL!

Waltz Across Texas........ My late Mom & Dad's fave song

Work in Progress --- 12 years ago -

Oh that's sweet girls! What is that song about loving each other for a million years? That was my parents' song. Now I miss my Daddy :(

SineadORebellion --- 12 years ago -

The Dance- Garth Brooks

Requested and played at my mom's funeral.

AngieKaye --- 12 years ago -

thanks Sinead thats the song I was talking about... I can't listen to it without bawling my eyes out. My daddy used to sing it to me before he died. He went 2 weeks before his death and planned his entire funeral right down to the songs played. But made sure the minister told me that these songs were for me.

Dorothy Parker --- 12 years ago -

"Ice Cream" by Sarah McLachlan

Bridge Over Troubled Waters....

Was played at my mothers funeral...I still can't listen to it when it (rarely) comes on. I have to change stations. After 40 years it still haunts me.

Bridge Over Troubled Waters....

Beautiful song. LeAnne Rhimes sings one of the best versions I have ever heard.

Work in Progress --- 12 years ago -

My mom gave us CD's of my dad singing in church. Those are truly powerful. He sings a song on there called "Christians Arise" about the second coming and the dead being raised that I played incessantly for months after he died. Really cool.

And I just love the songs you are all mentioning here.

Cs Land Escapes --- 12 years ago -

Butterfly Kisses
Lee Greenwood I'm Proud to be an American. That was played at our transformation in boot camp.

Porter Wagoner (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

sunshine1881 --- 12 years ago -

I'm Already There by Lonestar.

My son was about two when it came out and he always used to sing it, but he'd say, "I'm da sunshine in ders hair". It was so sweet and I still tear up when I hear that song because it makes me remember him as that cute little blonde kid.

Ashley87 --- 12 years ago -

BBMAK-Back Here
This was my favorite song when I was 14 hehe

tinman --- 12 years ago -

Little Miss Magic by Jimmy Buffett.

That song was the Father/Bride dance at my oldest daughter's wedding.

Man....was that a hard dance. I have been listening to that song since it came out 30+ years ago. Always loved it.

Now when I hear it, I get a lump in my throat.

MonzaRacer --- 12 years ago -

Jimmy Dean's I.O.U.
