I was reading about this last night. From what I read they will get another raise that kicks in I think the end of March. I say if you don't like it when so many are out of work, shove it.

Perfection --- 12 years ago -

and as the article points out. No one is leaving federal employment so it must not be that bad.

I have no sympathy for them. We have millions out of work and they complain about not getting a huge pay raise. They should be thankful they have a job.

Federal employees... check!

That is funny coming from you. Not one time have any of you blamed Obama and Hillary for the 4 deaths in Benghazi.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 12 years ago -

Clovis. Losing at every turn.

Such weakness from the left nowadays.

KU's favorite racist copy and paster rears his ugly head to defend his master.

justforfun1 --- 12 years ago -

What I don't get is why do they keep defending this corrupt government? Is it that important to be right that they will let them destroy this country?

Obama said it was revenge. Revenge for what I have no idea. Perhaps racist Clovis can enlighten us?

justforfun1 --- 12 years ago -

Oh Clovis you shouldn't have posted that. Let me give you a little fact check. Under Hillary in these 4 years we have had 6 embassies attacked. Look it up.

Ezekiel 23 20 --- 12 years ago -

Clovis -- son, you forgot to mention Halliburton and the Koch Brothers. LOL!

justforfun1 --- 12 years ago -

They have selective memory.

Perspective? How about an education, son? LOL!

And this pertains to the whining union members how?

Gotta love people who want money for nothing

That is expected. lol

SoupIsGoodFood --- 12 years ago -

Lots of that "tail tucking" from the left lately.

They don't have the gravitas to stand and defend their positions lately.

Defend what? We have a man in office who has exactly zero experience and it shows everyday. He is in love with himself and that is sickening.

I am an ex federal employee. It was great pay, great benefits. I did not have a difficult or stressful job. It was very easy. I was allowed to wear sweatpants, tennis shoes, shorts, or most anything else. I could chew gum and listen to my IPOD while I worked. I mostly worked the night shift and got paid extra for it. I was allowed a 5 minute break every 55 minutes, then a 10 minute break 55 minutes later then another 5 minute break 55 minutes later, etc. Then a 30 min. break for lunch where we were not allowed to leave the building. We were paid double time on holidays, overtime for everything over 40 hours. We were paid for lots of things like volunteering at Red Cross, volunteering for other non-profit entities like food banks. we were paid our hourly pay while we donated blood. I can probably come up with a list if I sat here and thought about it long enough. It was a wonderful job with wonderful pay. There are negative points I'm sure but I can't recall any right now. Oh, and we regularly received COLA's (Cost of Living Adjustments) on our paychecks. Those tiny little COLA's added up over the years. I never complained. We accrued an enormous amount of sick time and vacation time. I was never able to use it all. When I left I had over 6000 hours of sick time in my "sick bank" and I had over $10,000 in my pension and I was paid for the vacation time I had accrued. It was not a bad deal at all.

Clovis....

If calling out people for wasteful spending, fraudulent practices and failed policies is what youre saying, then....

When WE'RE RIGHT, WE'RE RIGHT!

Perfection --- 12 years ago -

wow LoveMyDoggies, that sounds like an awesome deal.

It was. I resigned because I fell in love and moved to Houston with my now husband of 15 years. :) I don't regret it but I do miss that job. LOL

TinktheSprite --- 12 years ago -

What is this "raise" you speak of??

That's not volunteering if you get paid to do it!

LoveMyDoggies --- 12 years ago -

Oh and I said IPOD because I had a portable CD Player that I used to listen to audio books. Not sure some of the younger folks would know what that is. HAHAHAHA

I know, I actually had to explain to someone yesterday what a VHS tape was. Dang, I felt old

We volunteered outside of work. We were not asked to volunteer. We were paid if the volunteering took place during the time we were supposed to be at work. Many times I did volunteer at Red Cross teaching the CPR classes etc and also teaching Mass Casualty and search and rescue. All we did was show up to work and tell them we were going to volunteer, we signed a form. We had a member of the Red Cross sign it and state what times we were there and voila! it showed up on my paycheck and yes it was volunteer.

Yawn. SSDD complaints from those who lost the past five out of six major elections on a national level.

Perfection --- 12 years ago -

SSDD complaints

Yeah it is sad that this administration hasn't been able to bring expenses under control.

needsleep --- 12 years ago -

Well what is it? A raise or furlough?

Private or Gov. what difference does it make? They both have families to feed? You have good and bad workers in both divisions. I would wager either would take freeze for the next 5 years instead of losing a job or being off of work. There are many who are essential employees and have to remain on the job and not receive pay. Non pay status means there is no money to deduct for benefits. How many of the spouses of the Gov worker or worker themselves need those benefits. They get it tacked on later when back in status and or hopefully has a spouse who works to cover the premium. If the Gov cant pay their workers how will that trickle down to civilians who utilize Gov services?

David --- 12 years ago -

The irony of their argument for more money is the inflation they are feeling. Yet, it was these very same government bureaucrats that for the last three years doctored the statistics to say that there was no inflation. Hoist on their own petard.

Perfection --- 12 years ago -

If there has been no inflation why do they need a raise to keep up with the cost of living?
